All good !!!
Conveniently located, food and sights to see are within walking distance. Rooms were recently renovated and most amenities are available in the room. Free breakfast caters to both asian and foreign palates although the choices are limited. You definitely get your money's worth.

Good location if you want to be in the middle of the real Yangon. Definitely a budget hotel that starts on the 4th floor of the building. The picture displayed on Expedia does not show the first four floors.

Overbooked and relocate
Hotel inform us that Chinatown was overbooked. We were relocated to 21st Street downtown. No notice was given until our driver called them. We booked room with city view. But was given room with no view. Sad...

Grand United 21st Downtown is a similar 3-star hotel, even newer and the view is similar for the room type we gave you to that in Grand United Chinatown. We are sincerely sorry for inconveniences we caused to your stay in Yangon and we will work very hard to ensure such a situation does not repeat.

We found this hotel as a home base to start our plans to find a tour company to take us to upper Myanmar to see some of the pagodas and temples.

Value for money.
Good location. Good breakfast. Good staff service. Even provide fruit for supper on first day. Will come back again. For the price,it is worth the amount. Strongly recommended but not for the very picky

Great location, cosy room!
We were in Yangon for a short while, visiting a friend along Merchant Road - this hotel has great location (don't let the front entrance fool you!). WiFi is strong enough for Youtube and Netflix, great breakfast and awesome hotel staff

Great location
This hotel has an excellent location in the middle of Yangon's bustling Chinatown. It is within walking distance to Junction City, the mega mall In Yangon, and many great restaurants and massage spas. The hotel breakfast is great for a budget hotel with awesome views at the rooftop restaurant. Traveling around Yangon is very convenient by booking Grab or Uber which is usually less than USD2 (: Pay in local kyat for all your purchases for more bang in the buck

Downtown Chinatown
This is a small hotel with big service we were dropped at the other branch by the taxi but no trouble as porter picked up both of our bags and carried them the two blocks to the correct hotel Good service by staff plenty of free bottled water and great wifi probably the best in Myanmar We had a problem with the ac not working properly so they changed our room instantly Porters very helpful Would stay again

The tour company suggested this hotel, definitely not where we would have booked. The rooms where filthy, residue on the backboard to the beds! We had to switch rooms. The service and breakfast was nice

Place to explore and experience Yangon Downtown
Very convenient place to explore and experience downtown Yangon. We got the executive room on the top floor overlooking the Shwedagon Pagoda as requested. Easy access to all restaurants, supermarkets, shops, fabulous street food, walking distance to Sule Pagoda, famous markets (i.e. Scott Market) and the Yangon Central Railway. 24 hours Security is always in front of the building. If you are looking for a quite place downtown is not the place. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, clean room, provided us with satisfactory service including breakfast. We checked out about 5am and they prepared for us breakfast packed in boxes for all of us.

Average hotel - just no hot water!
Hotel was clean, staff were always very friendly and helpful (including getting taxis for us, and negotiating good prices). Breakfast buffet options were very good - at least they were better than we anticipated! The restaurant on top floor serves good range of food, and reasonably priced. We were 2 couples, in 2 rooms on 8th floor - in both our rooms the 'hot' water never got hot.......so cold showers were had every day for 4 days. And neither of our sinks drained well. Wifi in the room was there - not especially fast, but was OK. Hotel is in the heart of the busy Chinatown area - walking distance from Sule Pagoda and a few coffee shops near there. Was our first trip to Yangon, so can't compare well to other places, but this was OK for the price. More fancy hotels are in town, but probably more expensive too.

Hotel Grand United Chinatown
The Grand United is an oasis of cool comfort in Yangon. The upper floors are more quiet if you need sleep. The breakfast is typical and tasty.

The hotel is nicely located in Chinatown. Though it is not a short walk, you can still walk to Shwe Dagon Pagoda from here. The hotel is surrounded by street food at night. Lots of fun. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was weird and the water temperature fluctuated wildly. The included breakfast was very nice, far above average. The staff was as helpful as they could be, but we had some language problems (not really their fault, I don't speak Burmese) Other than a couple of malfunctions of the A/C, the stay was quite pleasant.

The location is okie situated by the side of Chinatown main road . We navigate the city thru taxi as is fairly cheap. Hotel style is rather 80s but is clean with all the basic ammenities. However , for the price we are paying, one could get much better hotel in BKK for instance. But Yangon is expensive in terms of hotel

The penthouse suite was oddly designed with the washroom in the middle. There were puddles of water in the patio with insects everywhere. Neighborhood is full of garbage. Located about an hour away from airport. You can decide for yourself.
