"I did not realise that we were staying in a plantation village, with multiple accommodation. I had made a request for two beds and, as it was a slow time of year, we got two bedrooms. Pahala is a very cute town (and currently the only one with a grocery store as the one in Naalehu was no longer as at 28 Jan 25). The people were also really friendly. "We had a wonderful stay at the Volcano Forest Inn. The large room, access to the full kitchen/common area, the quiet location surrounded by the rainforest, and the private deck allowed us to enjoy a relaxing visit. The inn has a great location just outside the national park. We were able to stop at several places before they became busy. "A visual treat on our journey around the Big Island. We loved Room 104! Huge dining table/island, double sinks and double showers in the bathroom, ample supplies. Only suggestion is to have more dinner plates and utensils. Beautiful grounds with koi pond, waterfalls. Quick drive to Volcano and Village. A must when visiting Volcano.
