Very disappointing. We had just flown in from Australia so a very long trip. I booked a room for myself and TWO children one boy 15 and one girl 8. We arrived to find one double bed. I was sure our room was meant to have a pull out sofa so i had to borrow a blow up bed from a friend which took up a.lot of the space in the room. Waffer thin pillows and not the best mattress. A noisey person in the room next door. The light in our bathroom did not work. Only two towels between three of us that we had to use all week with no change. And a set of draws that nearly fell on top of my son when he open them because the floor was not even. Unfortunately we will not be coming back.

Run down & very expensive for what you get
Bathroom had black mould and a lot of damage. Bed made back very painful as springs sticking out all over. Very noisy as room doors slam. Also the windows are awful and can’t hear everything outside all night long and smokers stand outside the windows which even when shut the smell comes in. Overall very expensive for what you get, I was hoping by paying more it would be a nice apartment as I come down this way every month but I’ll go back to where I was using previously cheaper, cleaner and quiet.

I booked the property from seeing the photo on the website. Room was nothing like the photo. On arrival there was a smell. Our toilet and shower was separate. Kept standing on the carpet tacks due to there not being a lot of room between the wall and bed.

On arrival we were unsure if we could use the car park has it had a clamping warning on the wall and when we arrived at the door to the aparment we were concerned to find the key lock on the wall open, the room door open and the key to the room hanging out the lock. This level of security was alarming. We called the support line and had to leave a message they called back sharpish, confirmed we could use the parking but told us to speak to the "janitor" about the lock. There was not any infomation provided on how to contactanyone else. The room was OK for what we needed, pots and pans dirty, no washing up liquid. Some basics for an apartment not provided.

VERY limited car parking. First night I finally found a spot 10 minutes walk away. They need to sort out some alternatives as most travellers will arrive by car. Our studio was on the ground floor on the corner of a very busy road. It was noisy. The heater was inadequate. We were unhappy the bathroom was out in the hallway. There was a cracked glass in the cupboard. Luckily there were still two others.

Hi Graham, We are sad to see the review you posted but thank you for taking the time letting us know about this. We'll see what we can do regarding the parking area. As we cannot resolve the concern regarding the busy streets immediately, we'll look into alternatives to help lessen the noise as well as our handyman will be sent to check the property heater. Regarding the bathroom, I understand that it was in the hallway, but it was advertised that it's not ensuite. Our apologies about the cracked glass too. We'll have it replaced by our cleaners. I will classify my stay as “ok”. I was not pleased with the idea of sending proof of my name and credit card details for which they have charged a damage deposit of £50. The television set in my room had the worst reception ever, just was not working. The accommodation is clean and there is a BP M&S just across the road. I don’t think I will use this accommodation again.

We are sorry to hear about your feedback regarding our verification process. The Government ID is required to verify who our guests are. This is for address matching purposes and for credit card verification purposes to ensure that the guest has the authorisation to use the card. As it’s a self-service property, and the cardholder is not considered to be present, we need this information to verify that the guest can use the bank card to pay for the booking. Regarding the TV, we have had it checked with our handyman and it was working all fine. We are truly sorry about your booking experience. We hope that we can make it up to you at another time if you give us another chance.

Was really pleased with the room, not a huge fan of the bathroom/toilet being in another room so having to leave my room to unlock another room to just go toilet and shower. Good sizes TV to watch in bed. Windows not very sound proof to outside can hear everything, for the price of the stay I can’t complain. Would stay again.

It was spacious and can definitely recommend. Only drawback I found was there was no sound proofing so I could clear hear person in other flat and was bit annoying at night. Other than that it was pretty confortable bed, clean and spacious external bath, friendly staff to whom i conatcted over phone many times. The area is bit boring though and parking is first come first serve basis.

Room 2 is probably the smallest of rooms st west st. Although clean it remains cold as it has all outside walls and the heater struggled to cope on a cold night.

New Year stay
Booked for my daughter to stay over new year. Really nice little apartment with its own bathroom (in separate room but accessible only by the occupant). Clean and comfortable, just right for a short stay in Southend!

El alojamiento no esta mal ya que se dormi muy bien y tenia lo necesario,nos hubiera gustado una lavadora pero esta bien. La limpieza no muy bien ya que en los cajones encontramos papeles se galletas oreo,el horno estaba bien sucio,el baño tenia pelos ajenos en la bañera. Calefancion tienen que cambiarla ya que dentro hacia mas frio que fuera porque no calentaba nada aun dejandolo el dia entero. En general si volvemos a inglaterra desde luego no dudaremos en volver al mismo hotel, apesar de estas ciertas cosas nos gusto bastante
