We really enjoyed our time at Batu Empug Cottages, the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We loved how close it was to lots of great restaurants and main streets. The pool was great as was the breakfast.

We had a very pleasant stay here! The room was clean and quiet. The pool and gardens area was beautiful. The staff were so kind and accomodating and let us have our room early. The bathroon exhaust wasn't the strongest however, and we did see one cockroach in the bathroom. So that area could have been a bit cleaner!

Batu Empug Cottages is a small hotel but neat and clean with fabulous and helpful staff. It is conveniently located in quiet laneway not far from the markets and dining places. Yoga studios are a 5 minute walk away. The pool is clean with towels provided. A small cafe on site makes wonderful local dishes and serves drinks and snacks pool side. I will most definitely stay here again.

The hotel was so beautiful, serene and cozy. It’s centrally located in Ubud and there are so many good food options that are within a walkable distance. Even though it’s located in a busy area, the street it’s on is quiet and this gives a relaxed feel to the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were very hospitable. We loved our stay at Batu Empug cottages. Highly recommended!!

The property is a real gem. Located on a quiet side street near the city center and everything that you may need in Ubud: restaurants (including vegan), bars, sites, shops, boutiques, spas, yoga studios (10min walk to Yoga Barn), etc. The hotel is quiet, very clean, well-maintained, with pool and beautiful garden. Staff is wonderful and always ready to help.

Oasis in the Middle of Ubud
Loved our spacious room, our deck and the pool. It’s an quiet oasis in the middle of Ubud. The bathroom did not match the the room. Should have had a brown or warmer colored floor instead of black. The fluorescent lighting made the room even more stark instead of warm. All the fluorescent lights were too bright. Breakfast was delightful. Rika at the front desk is a gem!

First let me say I travel a lot as I was a flight Attendant for many years and stayed in many hotels and I would definitely recommend Batu Empug Cottages the staff there are very friendly out going and attentive with all your needs and the breakfast was fresh every morning and very delicious ...I would definitely stay here again!!

Everybody was so kind, the property is very well located ! The homemade food at the restaurant is tasty and not expensive !! We recommand The swimming pool is gorgeous We spent such a good moment

It has great, friendly staff with good English and the rooms have good facilities - room serviced every day - and was quiet from traffic noise. A good variety was provided for breakfast. Great to have a fridge and balcony. There is not much garden space but the grounds have been nicely landscaped. Our balcony view was over the adjacent rooftops and garden temples structures but still nice and very Balinese in feel. The kettle took ages to boil but it did eventually.

We were pleasantly surprised at the serenity of the area.The hotel is small; quiet and comfortable, but like many others in Bali, although the grounds are very attractive it is often a competition for lounges and shade around the pool

I stayed here for one night and was very satisfied with my experience. Clean room, super friendly staff. They clearly care about patrons and try their best to make it a happy stay. They allowed me to pay extra for a late check out. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff were very pleasant. Room was spacious and attractive. We had an unfortunate occurrence when we checked in as our prepaid room had been cancelled in error. We were able to sort this out by contacting Expedia. Appears to have been some misunderstanding. Hotel was about a 5 minute walk from shops and restaurants. While at this hotel we were privileged to observre the preparations for a wedding celebration being held at the hotel and were kindly invited to join the guests for a meal. That was such a highlight of our trip.

Good experience in Batu Empug
The staff is really nice, always available to help you and make you feel great. The hotel is well located, walking distance from the center of Ubud, the Ubud market, the Ubud Palace and the Monkey Forest. The swimming pool is small, but a great space and enough given the number of clients using it. The breakfast is good and the pancakes are great! Thank you!

The staff was nice and helpful. My room was clean, but the door was broken and I had to keep it bolted shut all the time. Toilet didn't flush well. Otherwise it was a nice room and comfortable for the night.

Booked for 3 adults and was given a room for 2 people. The next day they tried to move us to a cheaper hotel as they had overbooked the rooms. They called it "overflow". Spoiled the first few days of our holiday.

Guesthouse in Ubud for quiet peaceful holiday
Lovely guesthouse which was perfectly located. Just out of the hustle and bustle of Ubud but only a short walk and it’s right there. Fresh and clean and very quiet with very friendly staff.

Best value for money in ubud.
Literally the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Bali around value for money (and I’ve been 5 times). The hotel is clean, the room is very decent and comfy, beds are amazing and amenaties modern. Hotel staff are really helpful and speak very good English.

Great location, a few min walk from the main street where you'll find restaurants and shops. Big rooms with firm beds, could do with a coat of paint but this didn't impact our stay. Small shared pool with only a few loungers, basic breakfast each day but enough to get you going, includes a plate of fruit, fresh juice, tea or coffee and one of 3 main breakfast options including egg on toast, pancakes and one other. Good air conditioning and room serviced daily, basic tea making facilities in the room but kettle takes a while to heat up. The first money exchange as you turn to the left on the main strip offers the best exchange rate. 15 min walk from the monkey forest. Great service and staff. Nearly all the shops and restaurants close at 10pm. 15 yards from the hotel is Sans Spa and well worth a visit. The hotel is set away from the main strip so you don't get disturbed by the road noise and overall a great stay.

Lovely small and personal hotel
We stayed 8 nights here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and a good size. Small hotel with a gorgeous feel, great pool, lovely simple but tasty breakfasts. Good location to central ubud , everything was safely within walking distance, yet the hotel feels like a mini oasis. The manager was lovely and was setting up a restaurant out front as we left.
