"We go through Johnson City precisely so we can overnight here at the Carnegie. It has large rooms and a great staff - and it has personality. The chains are just soulless beds with a breakfast thrown in. The Carnegie is a visual masterpiece -- and it costs no.more. We hop onto the alternate route now that I-40 is one lane and make this part of our journey. Three stays and never a complaint."
