"This hotel was just what we were looking for. The location was ideal! It was walking distance to Laguna Beach where my kids enjoyed boogie boarding. We were able to check out beach chairs and umbrellas which was awesome at the front desk. My kids (13 and 14) could walk to get food in either direction. "Great experience at Capei Laguna Beach. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and Nick Politis, the manager, made us feel especially well taken care of. We highly recommend getting a room with an ocean view so you can keep the balcony open, sleep with the sound of the waves, and fully relax at night."

"Great location and quaint but old and outdated for the price. Bed was comfortable. The Sun set right behind an air conditioner unit. Bathrooms are not charming they are old from the 60’s or 70’s. Demolition/Construction right outside the balcony window which was not disclosed when booking. Earplugs on the night stands is never a good sign but very necessary. "

Upon walking in, it was clear they hadn’t cleaned the room at all. At some point in the night, my friend’s kid saw what he thought was a balloon under the bed - nope, a freaking condom.
