Magnificent building with fantastic views. Friendly staff, very clean. Fairly expensive. Lovely evening meal choices but breakfast wasn’t that great for the price. Large roomy sitting areas & a bar/coffee shop. Large carpark. A short walk to the main town & famous walks.

Very interesting and unusual place. Glorious views. Absolutely wonderful if you’re going to visit Tintagel Castle (ruins). For an American driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road in the rain, quite a hair-raising drive to get there.

The setting was amazing. Rooms were lovely, maybe have a little more storage for clothes, ample for a weekend but you would struggle if staying longer. No area space in bathroom to put things. Breakfast was average not big enough for someone with a big appetite.

What a disappointment. On check in we were met by a child bombing around reception on a motorised hover board with his mother screaming at him to stop and receiving a mouthful in response. Not a great first impression. We discovered this was the owners wife and son. We were told we had been given a room upgrade which sounded lovely until we saw it. Awful mismatched furniature and threadbare carpets with a window that didn’t open. The room next door was being refurbished with the smell of paint permeating our room and loud power tools making it very unpleasant. The coffee which was preported to be “the best coffee In Cornwall “ was expensive and very underwhelming. The breakfast at £15.50 each was again very below average. I would say the bare minimum of extremely poor quality food. Hash brown tasted as if it had been cooked days in advance snd heated. Tined mushrooms with water on the plate. Most of the breakfast was inedible and left. The continental breakfast again being the bare minimum no cheese or meat just an open bowl of muesli, cornflakes and a loaf of white bread for self toasting. The building and decor downstairs was lovely and in keeping with the theme of Camelot. However, somewhat ruined by the beautifully carved “round table “ having a what looked like a gold toilet seat … yet more art, we assumed plonked right in the middle of it ruining the ambiance entirely. To sum up they are providing the bare minimum at the most inflated prices.

The team at Camelot made you feel very welcome from when you first set foot in the hotel. The room was clean and view was excellent overlooking Tintagel Castle. We had a great stay and will return!
