Banana Bay Resort & Marina

4/10 Poor

"The website was misleading. There was no bar out by the pool. The bar by the oceanfront was supposed to serve food according to the website, but it didn’t. It was only open from 5 to 8. The room had a really bad smell coming out of the air conditioner which maintenance tried to fixed by cleaning the filter, but they just sprayed stuff in it to make it smell fruity for about a day then it went away and went back to the smell. I was there for six nights, smelling it the drain in the bathroom in the shower. Also had a terrible smell coming from it so I will not be going back to the banana day. also, I forgot that they charge you $19 a day for parking which I thought was ridiculous because they weren’t even over booked so there was plenty of parking. It seemed to me like it’s just another way to get more money."

"The hot tub was not on the property but was accessible through the property next-door, which was a little bit of a walk. Would have given it five stars if it wasn’t for the terrible individual at check-in. I don’t remember his name, but he stayed in the room in the back, not in the front where he belonged. He checked me into a room with no view actually a view with the wood fence could not see anything it felt like a prison cell. Call down to change room and was given a room on the third floor with a much better view of the pool problem solved, but it was and seemed like he didn’t care at all about my concerns or needs. I then ask for two robes to be sent to my room and you sent me two rolls of toilet paper instead so obviously there’s something seriously wrong with somebody who doesn’t care to listen to what you’re saying or your needs. Other than that overall I would go back knowing that I would have to deal with this moron again."

"One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s a little slice of heaven. We will be traveling back to the Keys just to stay at this place again. It was the best part of our entire trip by far. Just plan your meals out! There isn’t a ton of dining in this area (unless you’re ok with fried fish for every meal), and it all closes by 8 or 9pm."
