Top Thorkotlustadir Hotel Reviews

Fisherman's Village

10/10 Excellent

"We had booked two rooms here however one of the rooms had a leak so they had to move us to a different property. I would’ve loved to have stayed here because the photos look fantastic. I do have to say, though the communication with the property was fantastic when they found that there was a problem with one of the rooms."

Lighthouse Inn

8/10 Good

"Overall, a very nice place that is quiet and comfortable. Pros: Hotel is in a nice quiet location. Nice quiet rooms. Very clean! Included breakfast is very good. Staff are very friendly. Firm mattresses. Dinner is good as well. 15 minutes from the airport, but no very quiet. Very nice if you rent a car and don't mind a scenic drive. Cons: room was a bit too warm. You can open the windows but that's not always possible. Rooms could use fans maybe? Beds were all twins. Good for some people but we would have liked a king or at least a queen. Rooms are not noise proof, can easily hear neighbors and people in the hall, if they are being noisy. Anywhere from 30-60 minutes from most things. 60 minutes from Reykjavik. Nothing bad. Just preferences."

iStay Cottages

10/10 Excellent

"Cottage is so cute and perfect location to be by the airport but still feel like you are in Iceland. Hot tub was nice, check-in is a breeze but check-in info was not provided beforehand, we had to call. Value was excellent and the property is modern but cozy. Very cool views and proximity to the ocean is nice."

The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland

10/10 Excellent

"This, in my opinion, is the best hotel in the world. The mix of ultra luxury without over pampering you is amazing. The mini bar is complimentary with unlimited refills. The surroundings and lagoons are beyond breathtaking. In the last 3 years I've been there in November I've seen the northern lights every time. I have never felt closer to nature while at a hotel. The outside world disappears and you are more relaxed than you've ever been. The only 10/10 I will ever give."
