Good stay close to the airport. Kind of outdated but for a one night stay fine. This would be the only tap water in Iceland I wouldn’t recommend drinking (we didn’t) as it had kind of a sulfur smell and idk if that’s because of the location and environment.
The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. But the shower head is to high to reach.
No ceramic drinking cup ready in the room.

Quiet motel about 20 minutes from the airport. We were only there one night before our flight left. Not sure we’d stay there again, but the owner was nice (stayed up for us until 12:30 am), the room was dark and quiet and the bed was comfortable.
Our one-night stay was perfectly adequate for a layover. Its proximity to the airport, approximately 15 minutes by car, was highly convenient after an extended flight, and we also appreciated its close location to the Blue Lagoon. Room 9A was okay, and the amenities were good.
The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. I loved having a TV at the end of our 10 day road trip in Iceland to help transition back to ordinary life. (Besides, we watched the FIFA soccer game between the USA and Australia).
I was disappointed with the fact that there was no breakfast offered even though it says there is on the website and even shows tantalizing pictures of food. I felt that was very deceptive on their part. They need to update their website to be more honest.
Clean, Safe, and close to the airport.
Staff were very accommodating…
You will want a car rental - No frills location but a good location between the city and airport.
I stayed at Hotel Vogar twice during my Iceland trip, once on arrival and again before flying home, mainly because of its convenient location near KEF Airport.
My first stay was good overall. We received the bed configuration we had booked, the bed was comfortable, and although the room was missing an electric kettle, reception quickly provided one. The only downside was the shared microwave area, which was quite dirty.
Unfortunately, my second stay was disappointing. I booked the same room type, paid about $20 more, and clearly stated we were two adults and a 2.5-year-old child. Despite that, we were given a room with two separate single beds instead of what we had booked. There was also no refrigerator, although the staff did bring one after I asked.
The biggest issue was the bed. Shortly after lying down, I started feeling itchy all over my body. I took a shower, but the itching returned when I got back into bed. I cannot confirm the cause, but it made for a very uncomfortable night.
The staff were kind of friendly and tried to help, but this ended up being the most expensive accommodation of our trip and the most disappointing. We stayed at several guesthouses annd hostels around Iceland that were cleaner, more comfortable, and better value. I would not stay here again, especially if traveling with young children.
Convenient location to the airport. Room was big. Bathroom was clean but not super big. Staff was great at check in and check out. More an ordinary motel but the convenience and price made it a great find. Would definitely recommend.

Comfortable and perfect for our overnight. The restaurant and bar across the street was great for the sunny nights.
Honestly I was expecting the worst after checking some pictures and reviews but I was pleasantly surprised once I got there. The room was clean and spacious and there was a small pub right in front of the hotel where you could grab something to eat as well. It's super far from the city centre but I didn't mind catching the bus every day.
