"I am not really sure why the reviews here so poorly match the state of the hotel. It’s run down and a more than a bit grubby. The staff are lovely and helpful and do their best to take care of you but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that the hotel needs some serious upkeep. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at The Hillsboro. The attached private beach was wonderful and there is also an inground pool if you don't want to be in the ocean. There is a reasonably priced restaurant onsite, which was helpful as the area is not very walkable. This wasn't an issue for us as we were happy to stay on the property the entire time and enjoy the beach! The staff were helpful, kind, and able to help us with questions and extra towels/toiletries. "This was such. great stay at a lovely, charming, quirky and historic hotel. It is in the heart of things, and handy for all NOLA highlights, but is still quiet and peaceful. Beautiful architecture, meandering passageways and interior courtyard with fountain, and a real sense of history. The staff are all lovely and Perry was a blast on the front office. I loved it so much. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in New Orleans!"

"The location of the hotel was very central in the Fewnch Quarter. The room was a little small but it was clean and housekeeping came daily. The staff was amazing and super helpful with tons of suggestions and advice on restaurants and places of interest. Overall we had a wonderful stay and will stay here again the next time we come!"
