"The chap on shift in the evening when we checked in was excellently helpful. It was a very hot night, so upon request he very quickly arranged for 2 fans for the room. At breakfast, everything was neatly laid out, and anything that wasn't full was quickly topped up once we informed the staff. Beds were comfortable, shower was fine The only downside to the property is that it has a stale smell of smoke in the rooms (it's an old building, so the smoke is probably engrained in the brickwork) A...

"31 Castle Gate gave us a very clean and comfortable 2 night stay . Private and quiet accommodation clear instruction re parking facilities. Easy access to shops, cafe and relaxing meal/ drink in the evening sat by the canal. Initial access wasn't granted by the code given but a very quickly answered call gave us access for the stay. Thank you to Daniel - very helpful and he also checked in with us to make sure access was ok . Would use the accommodation again . "

"Large room with all you’d need for a short stay, but no frills. The decor is a quite bleak. Value for money with the real bonus of private parking and a short drive from the centre of Newark or access the bi-monthly antiques fair at the showground. Excellent Indian restaurant right on the doorstep. "

"We loved the colourful, quirky decor and the fantastic food. It's very convenient for Bingham station and Bingham is a good base for exploring the Vale of Belvoir. Very relaxing and friendly. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - really nice people. The room was really pretty and well appointed with kettle etc."

"Very good location for parking during our stay. Easy to drive to park and ride and access sights"

"Arrived about 10 minutes before 15:00 and was told that they were making guests wait until 15:00 to check in! Paid deposit on card to order food to room bill but when had the meal in the restaurant there was no record of this and the waiter went to reception to sort it out. When he came back there was still no record and I had to pay with credit card. When I checked out I mentioned this and the receptionist said they had forgotten to tick a box on the system but they would refund the £50...
