"Staff don’t seem to be around at any time. Bed is quite poor. If anyone is staying in the room above you, it may sound like they are about to come through the floor. Bags of linen in the hallway all the time next to the room not just when they are cleaning. Door feels very flimsy and like anyone could walk in at anytime. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking for a nice weekend away but if you have a wedding near by it will do as a place to sleep."

"We were in the annex but did not enjoy this area the room is very basic and the heating did not work we have had better appointed rooms in less expensive hotels .the front of the hotel is in good decorative order but if you have a walk round the castle there are areas which are in a poor state of repair,when we walked around the grounds we were disappointed to note a lot of dog poo had just been left lying about this is something the care taker should be aware off . "The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it."
