Top Taunton Hotel Reviews

Meryan House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This is a quaint hotel with a lovely welcoming atmosphere, easy to park in the rear car park, checked in and directed to my quiet room which was warm with a comfortable double bed, quality bedding. The room had an ensuite that was just perfect, especially after travelling from the Midlands the shower was so cleansing. The room even had a chaise longne! The breakfast was delightful, there was a variety of cereals, juices and a full English if you can manage it! Will definitely return. Thank you"

Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club

8/10 Good

"Great spot.Pretty decent facilities but they are getting a littles tired. One of the radiators didn't work. A shower handle was missing. Door lock to one of the bathrooms was very loose and would come off. Boilers noise is a real pain...sounded like buzzing bees and would keep guests awake in adjacent rooms if water was used anywhere in the chalet. Staff did say maintenance had gone home when items were reported but they would be out in the morning to look. Unfortunately no sign of any maintenance team! A real shame as have used the hotel on many occasions but this just didn't quite live up to what we were hoping for."

The Royal Lion Hotel

8/10 Good

"A lovely period hotel in a superb position in centre of town. The free parking on site was much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, food in the bar very good and especially good value with the mid-week offers. Things to note: we were on the top floor so it is was quite a climb, the floors are rather uneven (it is an old building, after all). Our room was spacious and lovely although we did find the bed quilt rather heavy and the pillows firm. Overall, very enjoyable and we recommend"
