Real InterContinental San Salvador at Metrocentro Mall by IHG

"Staff were amazing across reception, restaurant, and housekeeping. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Oscar at reception for being especially helpful and giving great suggestions. The hotel has been nicely remodeled. Part of the lobby was still under renovation, so there was some noise and dust, but you can already see the style they’re going for: elegant and relaxed. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and great made-to-order omelets. On a not so positive note, our room felt dated, especially the bathroom. The bed and sheets were great, but the bathroom needed work. You could see some of the wallpaper was peeling off, there was black buildup around the sink and moldy/stained grout in the shower, especially in the corners. We could have asked to switch rooms, but we were on a tight schedule and didn’t notice until later. Overall, a nice experience, especially in common areas. Just make sure your room is acceptable as soon as you check in."

"It was an excellent stay. We stayed in standard room for about a week with the kids to enjoy the city. We were next to La Gran Villa, which included plenty of restaurants and stores. We were also close to other malls and many of the tourist sites to be seen in San Salvador. It is very easy to get to the tourist sites from the hotel via Uber. The stay itself was great thanks to the staff. Everyone is very attentive and efficient."

"Lily, Jose, and the other young lady working in the restaurant made our stay incredible. Lily was on top of every request we had — she arranged our in-room massage, laundry service, and answered all of our questions with kindness and professionalism. Jose also provided us with a great list of fun activities in the area, and thanks to his recommendation, we experienced an amazing waterfall hike in the small town of Tamanique. The hotel rooms and grounds are very clean and constantly being maintained, which really shows the level of care the staff puts into the property. The food was excellent, especially the típico breakfast with vegetables. This is a boutique hotel, making it the perfect place for a quiet and relaxing getaway. When the river is low, there are hammocks available by a cool wooden hut where you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature."
