Hello Mike ! Thankyou for your thoughtful and candid Review. Glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and our complimentary, healthy breakfast buffet. For those that need a hot breakfast, there are three cafes within a few hundred metres that offer that choice, including the bacon and egg style. Yes, Potts Point is a great neighbourhood, only 20-mins. stroll to the city, or a little longer to the Opera House or the Rocks. Yes, Mike is correct, there are many restaurants and cafes within a short stroll. And yes, our dear old mansion House (130-years old next year,) does need constant maintenance, but she hopes that folks will forgive her the odd paint chip and squeaky floorboard in return for her charm and warm hospitality. Hello Anon ! Thanks for your compliments. Yes, Potts Point is certainly a great location. We do try to get rooms ready as quickly as possible, especially for our long distance travellers, so I am pleased we could get them straight into their room, to shower, rest ,etc, after their early morning arrival from England, rather than have to hang around until the usual 3.00pm. check-in time. Sorry to hear about the WiFi reception. Without knowing which guests I am responding to, all I can say is that no-one has raised this with me in recent times. Usually, it works fine throughout the hotel. Occasionally I need to re-boot one or more of the five "Airport" repeater stations, but currently, it is working well throughout. Additionally, we have a full-size, hard-wired computer in the Lounge/library, which guests can access at any time at no charge. Many people prefer to work on the large screen, at a desk, rather than small devices. Upon request, we are happy to provide, the night before, and often do, a breakfast tray to have in the room, and this is mentioned in the Guest Room Compendium. I am not aware whether or not this was requested? And in any event, we have found that most guests prefer to get to airport early (to avoid last minute problems), and to then fill-in any excess time with a breakfast snack there.

Hello ! Yes, Simpsons is in a great position in Potts point, and most guests relish the helpful breakfast buffet that Damien puts together, and especially Marie's home-made rhubarb and apple compote ! Two of our rooms do have small bathrooms, but most are on the medium to larger size. Depending on the guest's arrival time, we do have a pre-ara pre-arranged after hours entry code, which we advise in advance. Normally, however, we do like to be there to greet guests personally. However, I am sorry that you found Ree abrupt and less than friendly. That is certainly not what you want upon first arrival. When she returns from her current few days break I will discuss it with her. All that I can say is that this is not her normal manner, as can be seen from other positive Reviews, and there may have been some underlying problem. very well described. It certainly is unique, as sadly so many of the elegant old mansions have long since been replaced with modern high-rise. We are a tranquil little oasis in a sea of modernity.

Yes, our "Laura Ashley" style decor is certainly of the traditional style, and in places need a little touch-up, which is planned. So sorry about the bed. We purchase our beds from a very well regarded manufacturer, and follow their boutique hotel recommendations, which is medium/firm. Glad that at least the second night was not so uncomfortable. Yes, our healthy breakfast buffet is very popular. Glad that you enjoyed it.

Wow ! Not such a good Review. Our attic-style rooms, are on the second-floor, and are our smallest rooms, and are priced accordingly. we do have larger rooms on the ground and first-floor. I am surprised that the entrance was cold, as we do have heating throughout and open gas fires in the lounge-room, which are really cosy in winter. Our breakfast is one of our most popular items, as you can see from other Reviews. I am sorry that you found our welcome stiff, as we do try to pride ourselves on being open and friendly. Thanks for taking the time to respond, and hopefully you will come back and give us another try !

Hello Brian ! Thanks for you kind words. Yes timing is always a difficult issue. We have experimented with different time, and in fact do serve until 10.00am. on weekends. We find that during the week, most guests are out earlier. Having only 12 -rooms, it would just not be feasible for us to keep fresh food out for such a long period, but we can always make-up a tray the night before for those who may want to sleep-in.

hello Darrell Thankyou for your frank reply. Some of our flat-screen televisions are newer than others, but I think most will take USB sticks. We can supply fresh milk for room coffee upon request. Parking in Potts Point is always a problem. We are the only small hotel that has it, with room for 4-5 cars in tandem. Usually, we don't have a problem as most of our guests are from overseas, without cars. And we don't charge for car-parking. We do have boiled eggs, but our insurance does not allow for any actual cooking. Apologies if the bread you tried was apparently not fresh, but we do offer five different varieties of breads. Most Reviewers seem to find our healthy breakfast buffet one of the highlghts. Value is a very subjective matter. Any other hotel or cafe would charge at least $30-50.00 per couple for what we offer complimentary. Again other hotels, if they have parking, charge up to $40.00 per night. So I do think that we offer good value for money, but yes, generally speaking, spend more if you want more. I am sorry that Ree was apparently not as friendly as she might have been, and I will raise your comments with her. Genrally, people find her friendly and outgoing. Once again, thanks for taking the time to give us your frank comments, as we can always go on learning from Reviews as to how to improve. Thanks again
