Old hotel, have to climb the stairs with our two luggages because there is no lift. One of the staff helped to take our luggages upstairs which was nice.

The Katoomba Family Hotel offers cosy rooms in the heart of Katoomba. The rooms were spacious with private bathrooms, and the bed was very comfortable. A/C for the summer heat was brilliant, and I could see the heating is an efficient system that I'm sure would be brilliant in the winter months. Great location, and very friendly staff who made our check in and out very easy. I would highly recommend!

Clean and tidy property. Room was very small. Food portions in bistro downstairs were gigantic. One meal could have fed 2 people. Overall, good value for money.

We stayed a night on 30 June 2023. We travelled by train from Sydney and it was a short walk from the station to the hotel. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was great and the bed really comfortable. The hot water took a long time to come through in the shower but once it came through it was easy to adjust with the cold water. We had dinner in the Bistro in front of the fire. The Balmoral Chicken was really lovely. Would certainly stay there again and recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

The only issue I had was the small size of the bathrooms. You nearly needed to be a contortionist to dry yourself off. The room was spotlessly clean.

Stayed on a Saturday night in March. Easy free on-street parking nearby or 2 minute walk to station. Keys quickly collected at the bar. Rooms were recently refurbished to a good standard. Clean, comfortable, cold AC, mini fridge, tea & coffee, lots of towels, queen bed a single. 2nd floor room - didn't notice any noise from the pub even with live music playing. Would recommend and would stay there again.

Good location within walking distance of cafes, bars and shops. Ideal for one or two nights as a base to see the local attractions and amazing walks. Ensuite is a little cramped. The room is clean and the beds very comfortable.

Perfect position. Renovations in progress was not at all inconvenient to us. The bar on Sunday evening was great as Irish music from local musicians. Really enjoyed our stay. Will return.

The property itself is decent and I appreciated the renovated room. Unfortunately the rooms facing the terrace are affected by the smoking section of the restaurant. The smell of cigarettes is quite strong despite the rooms being non-smoking.

Flammable hotel in Katoomba
This hotel was not comfortable. As seen on the following photos, the corridors were filled with construction rubbish and other combustible material, the windows were not openable and the interior of the room not at all cozy, with a primitive bath in a closet. The worst was the fire danger and lack of escape possibility in case of fire. The hotel was not value for the price.

The accommodation was a neat, clean and tidy room. The bathroom and shower were more than adequate. The only criticism is that the hot water took ages to start running.

Very poor stay - loud band on until 12pm directly below our room. Far from a ‘family hotel’ no hotel water for a shower with no one around to help, emailed to complain and got told I was lying, can safely say I would never stay here again and would advise anyone looking for good service, comfort and a hot shower to stay elsewhere

This hotel describes itself as a family hotel. It is anything but. It needs to decide if it wants to be a hotel or a late night drinking establishment for raucous loud mouth drunken locals. We were kept awake until 2 am on two of our 3 night stay. . Families beware. I would never stay here again.

Pleasant reasonably priced stay in Blue Mountains
Rooms were excellent, very clean, small bathroom but more than adequate. Access to hotel very difficult to find. Car park on rough ground. Some renovations going on so some early morning noise. Staff excellent. Centrally located short walk to restaurants shops etc.
