I highly recommend this place for persons like me with tight budget. The staffs are very helpful, flexible and easy to deal with. Rooms and comfort is great with there cheap price, i like there free breakfast, Looking forward to come back. Thankyou George backpackers.

Nice staff. But the hotel was not in great condition. Very old, and bad air quality. The warm water didnt work for 2 days

The worst hostel ever,After i checked in and went to my room and found my bed havent clean and very messy from the previous person I called the staff to come and check they said very sorry and they only changed bed sheet but they brought the messy and used blanket just fold up and they didn’t change the pillows bag at all they did everything while i was standing and looking at them with bad smell of those things I will never ever go there again

Really expensive for what it is. Window in room doesn't even open to get some fresh air, and aircon only works half the time and is out of our control (i.e. staff control the temperature) so when it's a hot day you just have to bear with it. Mattress also smelled like someone had pissed on it. Receptionists were the slowest people I have ever met. Why does it take nearly half an hour just to check someone in? The receptionist that checked in my friends and I was an extremely slow typer, I've seen my grandma type faster than she did. This is my second time staying at this backpackers and honestly the quality has gone absolutely downhill. Would not recommend. Check out some of the other backpackers nearby

Hey there Zulaikha! I can see from the guest history you stayed on level 6 so the windows don't open for a few reasons, to damages the AC if wind is blowing in, it stops guests from throwing things out the windows onto the street and also stops guests from climbing onto the ledge to sunbathe (you'd be surprised what happens in a backpackers!) As for reception being the slowest people you have ever met, I truely hope you never find yourself in a situation where you are training new staff. What a great attitude to have with someone new to a job and learning the ropes! Maybe your grandama can come and have job with us if she is indeed faster, she can send her CV to us. Hopefully once we have trained up our new staff members we can make sure the speed of check in meet's your expections :) Thanks so much for your feedback!

Absolutely excellent staff; top location and really good value. Pretty basic, though, and h/c basin in room would have made a huge difference. Shared bathrooms need more hooks and shelving in shower stalls.

Convenient
Great location, cheap rate probably due to covid and not many travellers. Had a 6 bed dorm to myself most nights. Was great, there was one window that couldn't be closed which was only annoying as there was construction early in the mornings.

All good just when i arrived at 11pm no one at reception and i wait around 20 minutes outside until i entered the site after one person who is already booked then i stayed at reception another 20 minutes i called phone number from docket booking ,finally he arrived..

The hostel was pretty run down. The air conditioning and the bed were pretty good. The kitchen had an area with couches and outlets, but it was in the basement. Right at the elevator, there was a foul smell so I didn't want to do my laundry down there. The staff was friendly.

Positive: Location good- next to central station. The people behind the front desk were nice and helpful though Negative: Our room was clearly not cleaned before we went in though. Our pillow covers hadn't been changed (old hair/dirt/makeup seen on them when we walked in) so I'm sure other things weren't changed over either.

Overall I found this hostel to be crazy busy and slightly overpriced. Good location though, reception open from early am to late pm, and staff very friendly and helpful. The PeterPan travel agency attached to the lobby is great for helping you plan the next leg of your journey or help you find work. They also organize social events nearly every night of the week, so if you are traveling on your own and looking to make friends, this is a good place to go for that. The free breakfast was pretty standard...toast, jam, cereal. However the kitchen and eating area is far too small for the number of clients they have, and breakfast feels a bit like a rugby scrum. Only two fridges (always packed), two ranges (always in use) and two sinks (often gross with food scraps in the bottom). One thing that especially bothered me was that there are just a couple of dish towels left out to dry dishes with and they are always wet from the last 20 people who used them...so unhygienic. Ask for a room with a window... I had a windowless room and it was dark, stuffy, a little damp and smelly. Luckily the room I was in (4 bed mixed dorm no ensuite) didnt seem very popular and was never full. Bathrooms, cleaned often but with so many people using then the floors and counters were still always wet. Finally, they change the blanket covers between clients, as they should, but let them drag on the suspect looking carpet to do it, so your "clean" coverlet probably isn't as clean as you think.

I love everything about this hostel. its right in front of the train station, near to restaurants, supermarket and pharmacy, clean and spacious. Quiet too.
