Stay at Mill Long Melford
Stayed at Mill for two nights over bank holiday weekend. Everything about stay excellent. Room lovely clean superbly decorated and comfortable. Also beautiful private garden which we took advantage of on Sunday. Breakfast was freshly cooked and of course excellent!! Despite all of above what made our stay exceptional was the warm welcome and attention from hosts. Not difficult to see why so highly rated. Would definitely recommend highly. Also very pretty area to visit.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Mill. It was a lovely place to stay and a perfect location for exploring the pretty surroundings. The room was extremely comfortable and characterful. And the home cooked breakfast very generous and delicious. It was a nice extra to be able to easily adjust the temperature of the room to our liking. On this occasion we were just in Long Melford for one night for an anniversary meal at the restaurant Scutchers; it was a shame we weren't able to stay a bit longer!

Lovely place to be based
Our visit started with a very warm welcome from Paul. The room was comfortable and clean and tastefully decorated to a very high spec. Really nice range of teas coffees and fresh milk. I was happy to see the eco friendly use of refillable local toiletries. Breakfast was lovely... Particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs and local pastries. The fact that the rooms are separate from the house meant that we could come and go without bothering anyone else. Paul shared loads of useful information about recommendations for places to eat and visit.

Charming property, great location to wander into the village or up to the church. Attentive host, breakfast was superb and great to have it in private garden. Bed was comfy and room spotless. All the facilities you require, and a stunning bathroom. Wonderful stay.

Highly recommend
Really beautiful location, our room was immaculate. Paul was a wonderful host, breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend, great if you want some activities - we went out on the mountain bikes which was great fun

Loved this property. Superbly furnished; with great attention to detail and some lovely touches. The breakfasts were awesome with a very good selection. The owner could not have been more helpful and gave us some terrific local recommendations for dinner. A real gem! We will be back.

Perfect in every way. Easy to find, adjacent parking, easy access, walk to pubs and restaurants. Lovely accommodation, smart yet cozy. Brilliant breakfast and friendly helpful owner. Just what we were looking for.

We loved the setting, right in the heart of Long Melford within walking distance of notable historic buildings (Melford and Kentwell Halls, the Medieval Church) and local sops, pus and restaurants. The Mil itself is perfect!

Perfect bnb stay

We visited during the pandemic restrictions which meant a slightly different offer than usual. This only affected the breakfast really. Paul delivered a continental breakfast on a tray rather than a cooked breakfast on the dining room. All of the breakfast elements were fresh and tasty so we didnt mind at all. The room was absolutely lovely. Away from the main house so felt private and enabled us to come and go as we pleased without worrying about disturbing anyone else. Well cared for and spotlessly clean. Little touches made all the difference including beautiful complementary bathroom products, big luxurious towels and tasteful decor, artwork and flowers in the room. Highly recommended for anyone looking for somewhere special to stay in this vibrant Suffolk village where there is lots to do and see.

Cozy, romantic , relaxing stay
After spending two hours looking at reviews and options i chose to book the mill for a night away and booked the garden room .. and im so glad i did! The room was stunning, the wood fire in the room was amazing and cozy and the bath was so relaxing- breakfast was so tasty and so many choices.. paul was so welcoming and friendly and the stay was just perfect .. can't fault it in any way and feel like we've been away for a week not a night ... the only negative is that we hadn't booked to stay longer! Will definitely be booking to go back xx

Great short break in Suffolk
From the email we received a couple of days before our stay with tips on where to eat, to the warm welcome and the excellent service during our stay, I can’t fault The Mill. There are some great restaurants in the village, all a short stroll from the B&B. Breakfast was amazing with some great choices, all cooked freshly to order. We will definitely return, if only to enjoy another relaxing soak in the bath!

Enjoyable Stay 🌸
My Hubby and I were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary whilst also visiting family. The Melford room felt very opulent with the large Slipper Brass Bath within it. Every detail throughout had been lovingly thought out to enable us to enjoy our stay. We borrowed Paul’s Kayak which was a fantastic day out, paddling down the river for lunch, which Paul made reservations for us in advance to ensure we had a table when we got there. The breakfasts where fantastic especially the homemade hatched eggs by the three hens belonging to Paul and his Wife. We had a fantastically, relaxing time... Thank-you Paul for your discreet, friendly hosting. Looking forward to returning again soon...🌸

Hidden gem
Beautiful room very well appointed and immaculate. Walking disrance to village and many shops, bars and restaurants and short drive to places of interest. Host Paul was very helpful and gave great intro to the room and surrounding area.

Perfect luxury retreat
Perfect for a romantic getaway. Bath and shower were luxurious. Gorgeous toiletries, fabulous breakfast. Location is beautiful - surrounded by heritage properties in a quaint village but with a surprising number of quality pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Paul is a warm and welcoming host, doing it for the love of it.

Very nice room, all amenities there and everything worked which makes a change to many other rooms I have stayed in. Our room was furnished to a very good standard. Breakfast very good, we were looked after very well. Paul the co owner could not be more helpful. My only comment against the location is to say that there is a slight bit of road noise as the room is parallel to the road leading into Long Melford, although not obtrusive, its there all the same. Recomended location.

We had a fantastic weekend! Everything was perfect...the welcome, the room and the breakfast! Nothing was too much trouble. There are some lovely walks around the area and excellent places to eat in the village. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

Our overnight stay at The Mill was exceptional on all fronts. The room we were allocated was stunning in design and quality, from the amazing hand made bath to the beautiful linens and toiletries, and Paul was the most wonderful host who went out of his way to accommodate our early arrival and generous loan of a kayak to spend an idiclic afternoon on the stour. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.

Lovely room on the English countryside
Everything about this place is great, from the quality of the room and amenities to the beautiful surroundings and nice owners. Tasty breakfast too. Highly recommend it! I stayed one night while in the area for a wedding, now I feel like going back just to stay there again and to explore the surroundings more.
