"We enjoyed our stay at The Upper House. It's a beautiful property set in large gardens. Breakfast was good and we dined at their restaurant on a couple of nights and the food was excellent. Very close to the World of Wedgwood and a short walk to Barlaston, where there are a couple of pubs. EV charging is available for a small fee."

"The room itself was recently renovated and very nice. The hotel overall needs a lot of attention. The building looks very run down. The lobby has had some renovations but lacks sophistication, The staff were all VERY friendly and helpful. Having a restaurant/bar in the hotel was a nice conveience. The hotel is off to the side of much of the city center but easily accessed and walkable to restaurants, bars, stores and bus station, There is also a bus stop just across the street that has a popular line running on it. I enjoyed the city bus ride to Alton Towers, I could walk to local canals and parks."

"Easy check in and very friendly staff, useful to also be within very close proximity to the restaurant with the option of room service also. Room was a slightly run down in areas e.g radiator but was to be expected for the very cheap price point in comparison to other hotels around the area. Could also use a toilet brush in the bathroom- But overall a really good stay at a very affordable price point and near to Alton Towers, ideal if travelling from far and need somewhere to stay for a night or two. Also a Tescos and Mcdonald’s within walking distance."
