The room suffered a few gremlins over the 6 days I stayed, but a word to reception and they were quickly resolved by maintenance. Everyone on the staff (cleaners, front of house, breakfast and bar staff) helpful and customer focussed

Great Hotel!!

From arriving to leaving the hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The staff are definitely a credit to the hotel. Modern and spotlessly clean. Enjoyed our breakfast each morning during our three nights stay, lots of choice and well presented. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Parking is Below Par

A warm welcome from reception and a speedy check-in. The only fault with this hotel is the lack of parking on site. Everything else is absolutely fine, from the helpfulness of staff to the quality of the room.

Central location

A lovely stay. Friendly staff, clean modern rooms. Only improvement would be for breakfast to be hot. It was barely warm. Taste was fine.

Due to excellent rail service into London we chose Stevenage hotels instead of central London to stay as they were far cheaper. This Holiday Inn is convenient and value for money and just a 5-10 minute walk to the railway station. Trains very frequent and can be in central London within half an hour. Would do again.

Saturday night in Stevenage

The reception when we arrived was great. The staff member greeted us as we approached the desk and our room was ready. The key card didn’t work but a member of the housekeeping team allowed us access to our room. The breakfast team were friendly and accommodating.

While the hotel can’t control external factors they’ve chosen their location, the dual carriageway main road the hotel sits on is the nicer than Stevenage town centre! Walking through it at night it’s literally full of rats from the dirt & debris. It’s all very concrete and oppressive, a place in urgent need of rejuvenation to match the quality of the hotel.

Arriving earlier than expected from Sunderland, the hotel reception team quickly provided us with options to pass the time, whilst working with housekeeping to have a room prepared, leave our luggage and park the car. Doesn’t sound like the extra mile, but after such a long journey, it was very comforting to have somebody take control and manage the situation. In the restaurant, the breakfast team provided excellent customer service, were friendly, polite and courteous, attending to our needs (even providing train timetables and advice on tickets) and of course an excellent breakfast.

Bright light in Grey Town

Considering I was not looking forward to Stevenage the hotel had to be good. I wasn't disappointed. Although it's near a main road it was quite quiet and I was on a low floor. It is perfectly placed right next to the small, but interesting museum and the underpass that takes you straight into town. The staff are welcoming and warm and I was very pleased with how spacious and well decorated my room was. The restaurant open most of the day until 10 is really rather good, and a well stocked bar, neither of which I would consider pricey. It was a great stay in all and I even warmed up to Stevenage. I'm not planning a trip to Stevenage any time soon, but I would certainly stay again, if that changes.

The clear/frosted doors to the bathroom I did not like. The fact that the website stated no cots available as well as an enquiry with staff prior to the trip meant we brought a cot with us yet then told on checking in this is an available service.. room was small IMO
