"Great for solo travel and I always feel safe. The neighborhood is walkable and you can alway find good food. My room and bathroom is alway spotless and makes me feel cozy like being at home."

"Worst breakfast i’ve had in a long time. Hotel is in major need of an overhaul. Staff was friendly and check in process was easy. Parking and breakfast were major let downs. Saw a used condom in the hallway."

"The star was better than expected. The breakfast was great. The rooms are very comfortable. The only thing was with the shuttle that picked us when we arrived. Nobody told us we needed to call and requested that. The info says it will be available 24 hrs, and we were expecting it would be doing rounds. It needs to be stated to prevent misunderstandings. Other than that, everything was great."

"After calling ahead to confirm a late check in, their computer system was doing an audit when I arrived. Meaning I had to sit in a lobby chair for an hour and wait (til 3 a.m.) just to check into the room. Could’ve been avoided entirely."

"I was suppose to stay for 3 days. But I checked out the next day. My room was not clean. The sofa had stains and the floor was dirty. Not only that the pillows on the bed smelled so bad. They say they have room service and that is not true. You have to go downstairs to the restaurant to place your order for food. Then they bring it to your room. I would not recommend this hotel."

"Furnishings were adequate and linen was clean but the facility was worn down. Shower head pipe was extended beyond tile and bottom of wooden bathroom door was worn/broken (which seems like something they'd want to fix). Keep in mind, there is no refrigerator. If it's just an overnight to catch a flight, then no problem and it's ok."

"Inspite of being in the hotel business for a long time, Howard Johnson still has a good cleanliness standard , welcoming front desk and staff and one of the lowest pricing. Aside from being so conveniently near the Newark Airport, it also has so much room for parking."
