Spark by Hilton Roanoke Airport

8/10 Good

"Customer Service …. Good or great … can win you over unless everything else fails! Spark was very good considering the low price. In our case, it was just a stop over to get to another town. We flew in on the new American Airlines service DFW to ROA — Roanoke Airport. It’s a late flight to ROA so by the time we landed and the free shuttle by Hilton picked us up, we didn’t get in our room until midnight. There was no hot water at the hotel but by the next morning there was hot water so that’s not a complaint! I think they got their issue figured out and repaired. We also stayed one night on the way back to DFW. It’s kind of a bare bones hotel room, but it was very clean. It was an old hotel that was gutted and renovated. The Hilton shuttle service to and from the airport is extremely helpful although it’s not always available right when you need it, there are six Hilton hotels using the shuttle service. Still, because of the price, renovation and the cleanliness we probably would stay again for a night or two."

"I like that there are still some bank features on doors, entryway, elevator, lobby and the vault seating area. Not sure about wheelchair access as there is a ledge at the entryway, maybe they have a ramp but doors to elevator not super wide. There is no pool or fitness area in hotel and not sure where ice machine is but there was a mini fridge and ice bucket and coffee and tea maker on the room. The room - king- was spacious. Hotel is walking distance for the Centre Square and there is reasonably price parking at separate deck. Staff was kind and helpful."

"Sleep Inn is conveniently located and easy to access. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and free of any unpleasant odors. One feature I particularly appreciated was that the window could be opened slightly, allowing fresh air to circulate through the room and making the environment feel much fresher and more pleasant. The breakfast offered a good selection of food. The only minor drawback was that the dining area was a bit small, so it could become crowded during peak breakfast hours. It would also be helpful if the breakfast hours could be extended slightly, giving guests more flexibility and helping to reduce congestion during busy times. Overall, Sleep Inn provides good value for the money. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to stay here again in the future."

"It was our first time here. All employees were very pleasant and helpful. The music is great. Dining at Council Oaks steak and seafood was a great experience. Will definitely be back for that. Pool was very nice and well maintained. Bartenders and servers will go out of their way to make you feel on vacation. Rooms are pricey - nothing too showy- but they do the job. We don’t gamble and still had a great time."
