The room was comfortable and clean. Basic, but what we needed. The food and staff were excellent! We ate there all 3 nights. Extremely english. Extremely country. Highly recommended.

Authentic English Countryside Delight

Enjoyable 1 night stay

Great one night stay after attending a wedding in the area. Well appointed room, in adjoining stable block, with bottled water, comfy bed and great shower. Lovely breakfast. We were also given a courtesy call on the day to check we were still coming as we were at the wedding. Highly recommend.

Stayed at the White Lion before heading to Southampton the next day. Perfect stop over before joining our cruise. A really pleasant night, lovely meal, nice staff & a good breakfast. We’ll certainly be staying there again.

Excellent stay

Wonderful one night stay prior to a cruise. Room very clean and bed extremely comfortable. Ate dinner and breakfast, both meals were delicious and dinner prices ( and drinks) were reasonably priced. Special thanks to Wendy and Richard for looking after us well. Will definitely book again.

Cant fault it in any way - spectacular place

Always lovely to stay here, the most amazingly friendly country pub, with wonderful food. Stay for business few times a year cant fault it. they even go the extra mile by coming in early so we can have breakfast earlier than normal due to 8am meetings. Stay wonderful, and definitely give this place a try (even if its just for food and the ambiance).

Very comfy bed. Superb shower, luxury towels. The food in restaurant was excellent. Starter Fish platter to share a great choice and chicken Kiev very tasty. Can see why it is a popular place to eat. Staff friendly and helpful. Good well cooked produce at breakfast. Soberton is a lovey quiet village worth a walk around to see church and the views.

White lion in Siberton

Very friendly locals from as soon as we drove up the side road. Highly recommend for room and food, 10/10 Room was great with bathroom and sitting room on ground floor, bathroom very spacious eith bath and very powerful seperate shower cubicle. With large double bed upstairs. Can’t fault staff at hotel at all, from checking in, to service at bar and restaurant . Very friendly and accommodating. Dinner was lovely, chicken Kiev was huge and lovely and the steak and ale pie was probably the best pie I have ever had full of juicy and well cooked meat. Prices in restaurant very reasonable. Bar prices also good and a wide selection of lager, ales and cider. Thanks to everyone at the white lion, we will return. Shout out also to the lay preacher who stopped for a chat whilst going to the church to lock up, what a lovely man.
