Paid $700/night for 3 people. The “garden view” room overlooked apartment buildings and hanging laundry. Worse, the AC didn’t work at night—we barely slept. We complained and were ready to move hotels, but management was kind enough to upgrade us to a sea view and comp one dinner. Unfortunately, the AC still didn’t work in the new room. It was unbearably hot, and at checkout the staff admitted the whole hotel was having AC issues. I wish they would have been honest prior to the room switch, we would have packed our things & left.
Front desk service was mixed—two male staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, while the women were much nicer. Restaurant staff were excellent. Dinner was delicious, but breakfast was disappointing: leftover desserts from dinner, a few pastries, toast, eggs, and meats. The “sausage” was literally hot dogs, and the bacon was inedible.
We were charged $380 for a third guest—just a cot added to the same room. No extra space or amenities, just a steep fee for a rollout bed & subpar breakfast.
The rooftop pool is the size of a kiddie pool, the main pool is in an odd location with no view.
Overall, the hotel was a major letdown. For the price, I expected far better comfort and service. I should have booked the Hilton for half the cost and 10x the quality & working AC! This experience ruined our trip to Italy. I won’t be booking through Expedia again—I feel totally misled.
