"Stayed as part of a ride around the NC500. Of all the places I stayed this was the highlight, perfect host and truly great breakfast. Literally couldn’t ask for anything more than the care and attention I received. The room was basic, however everything you could need was provided. Bed comfortable. Cannot recommend enough!"

"Work visit but got evening walking advise of the gentleman (he's never been called that before 😉) at reception/bar, thank you. Didn't bother with breakfast but was offered an earlier breakfast if required. Different room to last week, didn't have a comfy chair and the sink is very close to the bath but it was quieter and did the job. Just used the chippy for evening meals but with a pint of Best from the bar and making use of the seating area, thank you. Will hopefully be back"

"This hotel exceeded our expectations, so much so we stayed an extra night. The staff go the extra mile to ensure you are happy and enjoying your break. We met other couples that had returned to the hotel and been doing this for years. The food served was delicious and plentiful. We had the roast of the day on both evenings and they were massive portions all cooked to perfection. We could not decide on our favourite between roast turkey or roast beef. Hat off to their chef! With a choice of breakfast meals all cooked fresh. We had eggs benedict on one day and full cooked yesterday both divine. We loved the hotel and customer service so much we will return even though we live 6 hours away. Thank you to Greenhill Hotel."

The full English breakfast had generous portions, and every meal was delicious. The staff were excellent, chatty, welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again. Highly recommended! 朗✨"

"Despite retaining the old pub name, this is now a B&B only, so don't expect a bar or evening meals. The accommodation was good if a little quirky. Our bedroom had polished wood floors rather than carpet, but the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Breakfast (continental) is a help yourself arrangement and was fine. In our case, check in was done without the owner being onsite. He texted us the access codes. The bus stop for Carlisle was opposite the front door. We stayed one night while walking Hadrian's wall."
