This was my second stay at this hotel. Modern clean rooms, great buffet breakfast, friendly staff. The location is very convenient, good parking and easy to walk into the centre of Carlisle without all the issues of parking in the town centre. Great location for walking in Rickerby & Bitts Park. This is now my 'go-to' hotel for staying in Carlisle.

The hotel itself is very nice and the bar and restaurant was great. The room was lovely, plenty of space and well furnished. The reason I gave this an average score was because I had a really poor sleep due to the noise from the road. I thought the windows were open but they weren’t, they were just old and didn’t close fully. There was also a cold draft blowing into the room. Being next to a very busy road, new windows must be a priority.

I was staying in the hotel whilst my dad was in a nearby hospital having experienced a stroke. The staff went above and beyond and were very flexible about extending my stay and letting me work in the function room etc. The local area is also very nice especially the fish and chip shop and Indian restaurant and pub across the road.

Little issue with getting wrong room when we got there was fixed quickly. Be warned there is no lift and quite a bit of stairs, was fine for us. Breakfast buffet was really good with all the parts of an English breakfast. We walked to downtown Carlisle easily. Excellent Sticky Toffee Pudding in hotel restaurant.

Lovely small hotel
