A luxurious island only a short cable-car trip from the city centre with a range of attractions to suit all tastes.

Found just 800 metres offshore, this is a top-quality destination for a break from city life. A range of wonderful entertainment is on offer for all the family, from amusement parks and native animals to fascinating museums.Immediately as you arrive by cable-car at Imbiah Lookout, a world of choice opens up in front of you. “Images of Singapore” is a high-tech look at the development of the city over time. You can stroll through hundreds of fluttering butterflies, or take an adventurous trip on the luge close by, or visit the Tiger Sky Tower soaring 131 metres into the sky and providing a fantastic vantage to look over the cityscape. The Merlion (a statue of a mythical lion-headed fish) also offers an elevated viewpoint over the island.The pristine white sand of Sentosa beach makes it a beautiful place to chill out and there is also a wide choice of eateries along the seafront leave your bathers at home however as this is not the best spot for swimming. Take a trip through Second World War military history at Fort Siloso while Sentora Golf Club has two full 18-hole courses, with a sumptuous clubhouse where you can have a drink and discuss your round.The fantastic marine life of this part of the world is celebrated at Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon – come and marvel at their collection of sharks, dolphins, turtles and stingrays. Universal Studios Singapore brings the silver screen to life in this exciting amusement park.Located one kilometre from the city centre, Sentosa can be reached with ease. Take the monorail or the bus from VivoCity Centre, or for a more adventurous option, try the cable-car from Mount Faber or the Harbourfront Centre. It can be visited every day, but each attraction has its own opening hours. The price of entry is included in the transport costs to Sentosa.

Th Shangri La Sentosa is a great family resort with many facilities. Make sure you include breakfast. We stayed two days on this trip and did not leave the resort.
