Top Shrine at Anemospilia Hotel Reviews
GDM Megaron Historical Monument Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent! This hotel is well managed and worth staying at. It is clean from top to bottom. All common areas are brightly lit. The location to the cruise port, to shopping and to restaurantsI is within walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. I have no complaints. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone."
Agapi Beach Resort - Premium All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"A beautifully maintained resort with great amenities, though room logistics could be smoother. Overall, the resort was beautiful and well-maintained. The location is convenient, with several shops and restaurants within walking distance. Most of the staff were helpful and welcoming, though a few felt slightly distant—perhaps due to a language barrier, as I do not speak Greek. Our stay had a rocky start when our reserved room wasn't available on the first night. I was placed in a bungalow and told it was an upgrade. However, once I moved into my actual reversed room the next day, I realized the reserved room was significantly better. It was modern, upgraded, and featured a wonderful view, whereas the bungalow's (room 654) view was largely blocked by a large tree. Additionally, the bathroom sink water had a strong, unpleasant odor throughout my entire stay. The dining experience was typical for a resort—a mix of great, average, and mediocre options. My friends and I dined at the main buffet and the Italian restaurant, enjoying both. They offered a wide variety of choices, and the bread, crepes, lamb, and drinks were personal highlights. The pool & beach areas were kept spotless, with attentive staff ensuring guests were comfortable. A special shoutout goes to the spa team, especially Erika and her colleague, who were incredibly friendly and kind while booking guests around the property. Tip: The bungalow featured an international converter outlet that should added to all rooms."
Castello Villa Daphnes - Private Pool & Whirlpool
8/10 Good
"This villa is a magnificent little bit of Cretan luxury but it could be even better. The house is huge, with plenty of space for 8–9 people, lots of sitting areas and places to escape for some peace and quiet. The pool is the star; kids will be in it all day! The garden is lovely, full of butterflies, insects and swallows swooping over the water. The courtyard is my favourite spot, perfect for an evening drink and candlelit meal. The villa is private, peaceful, has beautiful hill views and feels like a boutique hotel once you step through the door. Unfortunately, the bathrooms let it down. They are tired and need modernising: poor drainage, loose taps, chipped tiles and tatty shower curtains. The old washing machine in the ground-floor bathroom feels like an afterthought. The rustic kitchen is fine, but the appliances are tired; the fridge isn't very cold, the oven takes forever to heat and the hob isn't great. Best to eat out! The narrow streets of Dafnes can be challenging for nervous drivers, and parking outside the villa isn't always respected. The village itself is also quite rough around the edges, with litter, overflowing bins, derelict buildings, stray animals and virtually no pavements. That said, the locals are friendly and English is widely spoken. Arodamos Stone Grove is excellent for a special meal, Alloro Cafe-Pizza-Grill became our regular, and the bakery, butcher and supermarket are handy for essentials. For a big shop, head to Lidl, about 25 minutes away."

Galaxy Hotel Iraklio

"We booked our stay months in advance of our trip. Yet when we arrived at 11pm at night (my wife, I, 2 children and the Mother In Law we were told the room wasn’t ready(?!) and they would have to put another bed in a different room so we could all fit in. That led to a half hour delay (not welcome at that time of night with young children) and worse still we would have to move rooms the next day…hotel is good for a city centre location, but that really poor start left a bad taste in the mouth…."

"I could not imagine a more friendly welcome or stunningly beautiful apartment to spend the night in this gorgeous town. 10 Stars"
ARCĀSA Villas Collection by Omilos Hotels
10/10 Excellent
"We absolutely loved Arcasa. The villa was beautiful, stylish, clean and comfortable. The outside area was private with high quality sun loungers and patio furniture. Everything that you need is in the villa. We arrived late and Michael very kindly left us some food and water to get us through to the next day when shops would be open. Lovely cleaners came everyday to empty bins etc. The town is fabulous, we enjoyed a coffee in the square every morning and fresh bread from one of the bakeries. You won’t find many tourists here, it’s mainly local which is what we loved. There are lots of lovely restaurants in the town serving amazing Greek food. Just be aware that the walk down to the town is very steep and getting back up is a workout after dinner. We were fine with it but definitely not for anyone with mobility issues, take your car instead, once down the hill the town is flat. We loved Arcasa and Archanes and will be back"
