"The Portside Inn was one of the greatest stays my wife and I have ever had. The staff was extraordinarily kind and inviting, the atmosphere and design perfectly represented the cozy sea port town of Hakodate, and the location was second to none (many shops close by, sights to see, and restaurant choices all within a short walk). We wish we would have stayed longer as we made great friendships with the staff and enjoyed our time so much. We would absolutely recommend the Portside Inn to anyone looking for a more personalized and cozy stay in Hakodate."

"This was the perfect stay for our one night in Hakodate, but wish we could have staying longer to explore the city and enjoy this wonderful hotel! The amenities are top notch, from the private and public onsen, to the complimentary drinks and snacks, to the beautiful and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is such an array of Japanese food and loved the late night ramen. Such a nice way to unwind after a day of train travel. Really enjoyed the views from the property and truly felt relaxed here."

"I personally have an issue with noisy walkers, so if your on the first floor you'll definitely hear people stomping through their room from above. Our room was okay. We had a bathroom, but was surprised in two ways. I thought upon entry there was no bathroom because of the layout (small). But there was a door that led to a bathroom that was a pretty good size. It needs a little bit of update, but it worked well. I'm american and the windows were cool. I didn't realize how it worked until checkout time. There's an inner set of windows directly in your room. Then there's a second set of windows that you have to open in order to get fresh or cool air into the room. The first set of windows were somewhat European and then the second outer set I guess maybe Japanese. My first time, but that was cool."

"Beautiful place right on the water with a rooftop onsen that overlooks the city and water. Bars and restaurants are walkable everywhere. I would definitely stay here again."

"It was such a lovely stay with excellent food options, both at the hotel buffet and near the hotel. The employees were also very professional and welcoming to us. Would book here if I have the chance to come back to Hakodate!"

"As with other OMO hotels this place is very nice. Conveniently located to the JR station and some great restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and the room is well laid out and spacious. The onsen and 2F common space is lovely! Unfortunately, contrary to most other hotels in Japan, OMO does not provide any coffee for the room. It is a small issue but an inconvenience to go out and buy coffee."

"Centrally located, great clean room with amenities like in-room washer & dryer, fridge, microwave, etc. Overall hotel was maintained very clean and tidy Staff were very pleasing, professional and ready to help in providing directions to site-seeing locations, shopping, transportation and restaurants in the Ginza. Breakfast selection was great with fresh breads, fruits, other dishes with vegan/vegetarian options."
