While the location was convenient for walking to local pubs and convenience stores, and the staff was very responsive—helping us arrange a private taxi from the airport—the overall experience left a lot to be desired. "Excellent location for our family ski stay in Otaru. Easy access to train/bus terminal, 30 mins bus ride to Asari Ski Resort. Awesome canal view and nice walkable area for exploring Otaru."

"I have always known this particular hotel very well since my teens, and have always stayed here with my family during most of our overseas trips to Hokkaido for the past decade or so. Now, I've conquered it and stayed here alone. The room was comfortable and was just the way I remembered it, especially the surroundings of the entrance hall. The staff were very hospitable and one of them went as far as assisting me with my baggage to the cab when I checked out. Waking up to the views of the Sea of Japan was one of the most memorable aspects of my stay here. Otaru-chikko Station was also located nearby, which was convenient for me to access my railway day trips. When I checked out and informed them that I had baggage, they offered to get a cab for me to Otaru Station, which was a huge bonus. Whenever booking this hotel, remember the golden rule to always reserve a room facing the Sea of Japan. Thank you, Grand Park Otaru, for such a wonderful stay over the Christmas break! Whenever I do get the chance to come to Hokkaido again, I shall gladly come back!"

"Ideal base for skiing in Grand Hirafu, with ski in/ski out access to the Ace Family Lift and location is walkable to a good variety of food, shopping and ski hire options, as well as the King Gondola and Hirafu Welcome Centre. Staff were friendly and helpful, and buffet breakfast hit the spot each morning. Onsen was lovely after a day on the slopes too! We loved the view from our room, watching people ski down the Family Run. Would stay again and highly recommend. "
