"A few odd things about this place - having to take your rubbish with you is not a normal expectation, nor is staggering of electrical appliance to avoid overloading, nor are having hall lights that don’t work or a reception that’s only opened in the mornings Otherwise a pleasant clean and decent down town location"

"I stayed for 3 nights solo. Room was more than large enogh, bed was comfortable, relatively very quiet at night. Breakfast was ample and large variety of choices. Being right on Piazza Oberdan, one has excellent access to the excellent Trieste bus system and you are only 10' or less from the central train station. Also within 15' walking time to dozens of restaurants."

"Overall this is a nice hotel. The big upside to me is that it is was very quiet and had the best sleep of this trip. Even though my room got quite warm at time because the AC was not on yet (traveled in May). The hotel is convenient and easily walkable to a number of city sites. The breakfast was fine and the staff quickly replaced items as they were depleted. The front desk was very helpful in making suggestions and recommendations. The bathrooms are tiny, even by European norms. I’m not a big guy but felt like I needed a shoehorn to get in/out of the shower. The security safe is comedically small—the Fiat Panda of hotel vaults—if you are traveling with a laptop or tablet no way in the world is it fitting."

"The staff was completely uncaring and unhelpful. There was no ventilation in our room. None at all. When I asked at the front desk I was told someone would take a look at it. When I asked again an hour later they said they called to have it inspected. When we got back from. dinner no one had been there. When I checked again with the front desk (in person since the phone did not work) I was told it was inspected and nothing was wrong. I was told that all of the rooms were the same temperature and it was suggested i sleep with the windows open. There was an obvious error code on the thermostat and all of the other rooms had their patio doors closed so I assumed their climate was working. So I was lied to twice by the front desk. And they were very smug and rude about everything. Even at check in. We have been all over the world in many hotels and have never been treated so poorly. Yes. The pool and location is great but does not even begin to compensate for the staff behavior at the price. This was our sixth visit to Portoroz and I will never stay at this hotel again. There are much better choices."

"Nicely appointed hotel and courteous staff. Central location is walkable to key points of interest. Parking is an issue. HVAC did not respond to controls. Otherwise, a keeper."
