I was surprised that there was only a showerhead next to the toilet, rather inconvenient. I was also unaware that you could not throw toilet paper into the toilet, but that was not unusual, it seems.

Do not book
Please do not book this place if you want a safe, comfortable trip. The building is located at the end of a deserted alleyway in Myeongdong. The entrance is open to the public and this part of the street is poorly lit at night. My booking was for 4 nights and the front desk staff were seldom present for assistance. The heating system did not work during my stay so I was given a portable heater which helped only a little. There are many other alternatives in this area, so I would recommend staying away from Philstay Myeongdong Metro.

Please do not book this place if you want a safe, comfortable trip. The building is located at the end of a deserted alleyway in Myeongdong. We loved it here. Our flight was canceled and the hotel was super responsive when I messaged them and asked if we could shift our visit ahead 1 day. We came with our 11 year old. Clean, comfortable, and a lot of details that really made it great. Refrigerator in room, small common kitchen area, a scale so you can weigh your luggage before you leave to make sure you’re not over the airline limit. There is even a place to store your luggage after checkout if your flight doesn’t leave until the evening. Beds are firm, sheets and comforter are comfortable. Shower is easy to operate. We were out exploring the city all day and it was a great place to crash at night and eat breakfast in the morning before taking off. We’ll be back!

Cozy Room in the heart of Myeongdong
Our stay at Philstay Myeongdong Metro was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but cozy and exactly what we needed, a bed and shower. Philstay is right in the middle of the Myeongdong shopping district and also near two subway lines (line 2 and line 4) both short walks from Philstay. As a former resident and frequent traveler to Seoul I picked Philstay based on it's location and ease of access to other districts. These rooms may not be for everyone as they are quite small. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay both consisted of a bed with firm mattress, nightstand, tv, and shower. If you like large spacious rooms with big bathrooms, this is not the hotel for you. However, if you just need a place to sleep and shower this place is perfect.

Convenient location but room lacked comfort
Great location. It's in the center of the Myeongdong street market so it's very convenient. Metro station and express bus to airport are also within 5' walking. Room was too small. The bathroom was extremely narrow. It was combined with the toilet so after a shower, the toilet would get wet all over.

All Korean guesthouses have a similar structure. All rooms have private bathrooms and simple showers.

Hotel is located near myeongdong station exit 7 (with escalator) with plenty of eateries & cosmetics shops surrounding it. Some stairs (8 steps) to reach the elevator as the hotel is located at 5F. Isaac toast is just located beside it! Ideal for breakfast. Room is clean & small but walls are thin so you can hear your neighbor washing/talking. You can also hear the noise from the outside if there are drunk/super excited people shouting. Do note that toothbrushes are not provided. Moreover, myeongdong station is not tourist friendly where there are a flight of stairs at all exits to reach the metro exit,,,quite sad as there are so many tourists with huge luggage bags, including me!

The location is just right in the center of Myeongdong. Easily to settle any of your meal in Myeongdong, and for shopaholics, you can shop till you drop in Myeongdong and have a good rest without travelling far.

Fantastic, convenient place with great service
I stayed at this guesthouse for 8 nights. It is conveniently located right in Myeongdong and only a 5 mins walk from the nearest airport bus stop. It is also nearby 2 subway stations. Staff are very friendly and polite. Room was small, but adequate for one person. It had a private bathroom which I liked, but due to space constraints the shower is next to the toilet! I appreciated that they had daily housekeeping and complimentary toiletries. Free breakfast was an added bonus (toast and cereal). The only negative was that the air con was a bit noisy. All in all, it was a great little place to stay!

Convenient location
The boss and staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great, right in the shopping paradise of Myeongdong, Seoul. Food, subway, boutiques, massage parlours are within the vicinity. The only little complaint I have is the noisy aircon pumps and the damp-smell of the room due to not-so-good ventilation. Other than that, I like that little pantry area where I had my breakfast at my own pace. There was also a microwave where I could heat up my food. Toiletries were also very complete - bath foam, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer. It had similar room size with some hotels, so I feel this is really value for money :) A word of caution - there are three Philstay. We went to the one at 9-gil (the staff was super helpful, helped us call the 10-gil staff and asked for directions) but we actually booked 10-gil.

Clean, new hostel in the heart of Myeongdong
Really enjoyed our stay at Philstay Myeongdong! While the rooms weren't super large, they were very clean, modern and well furnished. Very comfortable stay and great location- it was in the middle of Myeongdong, so late night shopping was convenient. Lots of great food nearby too (Jangin Dakgalbi was just around the corner and delicious). Owner of the hostel was also very nice- he kindly lent me a bath towel at no charge when I forgot to bring mine and helped us carry our bags (which were heavy after all the shopping!) down the stairs after we checked out. Overall stay felt warm, comfortable and friendly. Would totally stay again!

明洞駅8番出口から徒歩5分なので便利ですが、雑居ビル内の5階なので、とても見つけにくいです。事前にマップでしっかり場所を確認しておいた方が良いです。周囲にコンビニが無いため、アルコールを買えませんでした。お菓子やジュースなら売ってるところあります。また、お一人様はカフェ以外断られました。ルーム内に椅子が無く座れるのはベッドだけです。トイレ流せません。トイレとシャワーの仕切りカーテンが無いので便座他全てが濡れます。ドライヤーはあります。プラグは持参必要。パジャマと歯ブラシは、無いです。入室時カビ臭いですが、すぐに慣れました。寝るだけなら、安くて駅に近いので、良いかと思います。チェックイン最終時間から朝の9時前までフロント不在のようです。カードキーをフロントデスク上のケースに入れて、退室するように指示されました。

地點非常便利，位於明洞商圈，附近地鐵站有明洞站和乙支路入口站！房間整潔，空間感足夠，價錢亦適中！員工十分友善親切，值得一讚的是員工每天都會主動清掃房間！這一點是很多其他旅館都沒有提供的服務^^

受付の方はとても親切でした。歯ブラシはありませんが、韓国では普通なので問題なし。部屋に入った時、若干変な臭いがしましたが、それ以外は清潔です。ただ、部屋はかなり狭いです。朝食無しでしたが、隣に有名なトースト屋があるので、これも問題なしです。philstay系は基本どこもいいですね(^^)

1. Please understand the hotel policy first. 2. You made a reservation for 2 people, but stayed for 3 people (low budget double room). 3. There will be a surcharge if you book 2 people in any hotel and stay for 3 people. 4. However, we have not received a payment from you. 5. You received hotel regulations from hotel.com several times, but three people stayed. 6. We have suffered inconveniences from other guests in the hotel with your angry attitude and loud voices. 7. We tried to do well to you from Hong Kong. However, you ignored the regulations and ended up with three people, scoring as you thought. Our staff was very difficult psychologically because of you, and other customers were uncomfortable.

交通方便，服務員有禮 只是wifi 有點問題不能使用 牙刷等可能因為成本考量而不提供（房內沒看見） 可能住客要注意一下，但附近太多便利店了 其實沒太大關係
