"By far our favourite hotel on this trip. We stayed for a week and did not want to leave. Excellent amenities including jacuzzi, sauna, gym, and pool, all at no extra charge. Several dining room options (albeit expensive). Front desk staff were very knowledgeable and helpful (shoutout to Daniel who was very kind to us!). The breakfast selection was excellent. The grounds are expansive and very beautiful. Excellent view over Funchal. Room was cleaned rigorously every day (including vacuuming!) and quiet overnight. It was perfect for our honeymoon, and we would absolutely stay here again. As only one potential point of suggestion for a 5-star hotel, we would have appreciated a 24/7 tea bar at no extra charge."

"Reid’s is a beautiful property with multiple pools and diving access to the ocean. Our stay involved changing rooms ( not the hotels fault), and not all rooms are the same. The first room had a walk in shower but the second room had a very slippery tub shower. There was construction going on during our stay that made for noisy afternoons. The food was really good and there are multiple restaurants, however, I would reserve a table in advance of your stay to guarantee your spot at dinner. The service was exceptional."

"After moving to an air conditioned room and getting the premium drinks upgrade our stay definitely improved. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help you with whatever you ask. Evenings entertainment showed some great talent, most singers were amazing. Daytime activities were fun but were limited to very few. System for the shuttle bus to town could be improved as it was a free for all and people had to eventually get back off. Breakfast and lunch options were good however dinner was a hit or miss and we ate out a few times as a result. I would recommend this hotel as its waterfront location is beautiful however only if you get the upgraded options."
