Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground
10/10 Excellent
"This location is great - I really enjoyed the proximity to Disneyland. The facility is clean, quiet, and rooms are comfortable. The waterslide for kids is nice - my nephew loved it!"
"Excellent location. Right next to the Hollywood walk of fame, Chinese Theater, Dolby Theater, eateries, and tour buses. Excellent gym with adequate equipment. Download the Waymo app for a driverless experience with AI. It was cheaper than Uber and Lift."
SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim Resort, Tapestry by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"Great property within walking distance of Disney—it would be a decent walk but definitely not a long walk. Uber/lyft is like $6. Garden Walk is across the street; super convenient to the freeway. My only criticism is the ac has a musty smell when you first cut it on. The furnishings are dated and need to be replaced but they are clean. It’s surprising considering the lobby looks so upscale; the rooms should reflect the lobby. Another thing is they charge a $200 security deposit which seems excessive for the price point of the property; they charge your card for food and parking separate from the deposit, which I also found to be a bit weird bc that’s the whole point of a deposit—to cover the incidentals, so they charged $300 upon check in ($200 deposit +$100 for parking), on top of the money I’d already spent booking the hotel. I know the money will come back after check out but that’s $200 you’re not going to see for about a week after your vacation is over. Anyway, despite that, it’s a safe, clean property with a nice big pool my daughter loved swimming in. "
"The beds were so comfortable clean and the room always had a fresh scent. I’m picky about hotel shampoos and these smelled really good, the staff was always on top of assisting without being asked. There is a lot of close nice restaurants, there’s a beautiful amazing authentic french bakery right down the walkway less than two minutes away. The other dining options were only about 5-15 minute walk as well as Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. Location of this hotel is perfect for everything."
"We visit Disneyland often- sometimes a few times per year and the Majestic Gardens is always our first choice for accommodations.
While there could be some updating, the hotel & grounds are beautiful & clean. We love the large lobby and the convenience of the restaurant, bar and store. The rooms are extremely generous in size (in comparison to other nearby hotels) and always clean. Beds are comfortable!
M favorite are the rooms with patios, leading to the pool & gardens, which offer perfect firework viewing. One suggestion would be to update the pool & jacuzzi. With that being said, I haven't necessarily had an issue, it's purely a cosmetic issue- The pool is rarely overly busy (at least in my experience) and has been great for a mid day cool off or dip before heading to bed.
The fact that it is gated is a big plus- it makes us feel safe, especially during trips when I'm traveling solo with my kids. And of course, the complimentary shuttles- it makes getting to and from the parks effortless.
Staff is always welcoming and accommodating- we can't wait for our next visit!"
"The room was great. There was just a strange smell in the bathroom when I first arrived. It was the first time I had a need and used mailroom services to accept a couple of packages as I traveled; everything went very well - received my packages in good condition and was able to retrieve them from the staff with minimal effort. Digital check-in and check-out worked seamlessly. In-room food service was quick, delicious, and piping hot. I felt relaxed and well cared for. "
