What a fabulous hotel from the moment we checked in Ricky was Lovely and gave me 2 free Birthday drinks, Danny the Food and Beverage Manager in the Anzu restaurant was so lovely it was really lovely talking to him such a nice guy ,He wanted to give me a free dessert for my Birthday but we were so full after eating dinner ,The room was amazing and totally spotless and the View was Amazing,When we were checking out Michael assisted us ,What an amazing Person he was so lovely to talk to and went totally over and above for us he was just an amazing guy ❤️, Everyone was fantastic really and made our trip so much more enjoyable and memorable.We would totally recommend this hotel without a doubt and we will definitely be coming back Thanks Hotel Nikko you definitely are a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hotel

The only place I will stay when I go to SF. Beautiful hotel right on the edge of Union Square. Walkable to all the core sights and plenty of restaurants and shops around. Japanese-inspired decor (so many cherry blossoms!) lends a calming vibe. The entire hotel is pet-friendly and there are cute doggie touches all over the place. A perfect balance of fun, calming and luxurious! I traveled with a partner on this trip but have stayed here before as a solo female traveler and the hotel's keycard elevator and single watched entrance made me feel quite safe.

The staff were extremely courteous. The hotel is very nice albeit just past its prime but it is one of the best options in downtown SF. Would definitively visit again.

It isn't that there is a particular problem with this property but it does feel like there has been some cost saving going on. For instance, the resort charge is supposed to include two bottles of water a day. What that really means is two bottles at the start and you can fill them up from a fountain. Also the main door has been closed off rather than providing full time security - meaning entry has to be through the valet parking door only.

We had a wonderful experience staying here. I had never been to the area so I frequently asked the staff at the front desk for help. They gave great restaurant recommendations, helped me understand the public transportation and gave tips on how to get around. They also helped speed up our checkout process because we left at 3:30am. The area isn’t the safest but I felt safe in the hotel. I was also traveling with my 8yo son so I was a little more worried with him there. It’s also not the most convenient location if you’re looking to stay near fisherman’s wharf, but the public transportation is very easy to use and it’s just a quick bus/cable car away. We stayed here because it has an indoor pool. All in all, it was a great experience!

Just 2 blocks away were homeless people. The area around the hotel is great in downtown San Francisco. Lots of great restaurants. The hotel is terrific with a great swimming pool and healthcare facility.

Our check in was awesome with Michael and the rest of the staff were GREAT! I can’t rave enough of the staff. Our room was upgraded (nice)/able to chk early) however, there were broken glass and took the broken pieces to front desk. They were great about it and gave us a comp drinks at their bar. On our last Saturday i caught one of the broken glass in my toe and cleaned it up and didn’t say anything, but was encouraged to let the FD mgr know, reluctantly I did and Royce took VERY GOOD CARE OF US! I would definitely go back there again.

Adult swim hours for the pool don't work with kids. Both the morning hours and the evening hours were right when my kiddo wanted to swim - and we stayed at Nikko for the pool.

The service was fantastic all the way around, from the front desk, the Anzu Restaurant, lounge, concierge/bell staff and housekeeping staff. The breakfast quality and service was also fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and clean.

We stayed in a Club Level room. Luis, the attendant in the Club Level lounge was fabulous. He was very attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed talking with him. The location in Union Square is convenient for shopping and access to good restaurants.

I booked from a 3rd party site which usually has great deals for this hotel but the weekend of my stay was a convention. This was our 2nd time here, the property and everything in it is one of the best I have stayed in downtown SF. It is an oasis among the hustle & bustle of downtown. The staff at valet, front desk, house keeping, ANZU & Feinstein are amazing! The food at ANZU is amazing from breakfast to dinner. Great bar staff & drinks at Feinstein. The bed at RM 1609 could use a change.. one side was too soft and leaned too much not as comfortable as the one I stayed the first time. Maybe the hotel can do something about that. The extra fees I could do without.. some not disclosed at time of reservation. The city & other taxes that are applied after your credit card is charged is a shock. Parking is $75 but knowing that my car is safely parked is an assurance I would pay for.. But there is nothing that can be done since tourism is important to any city. The hotel is walking distance from cable car, F Train, Muni & Bart. The rooms were a little more expensive due to a convention during our stay. I have yet to try the pool & sauna that I have heard so much about. Looking forward to my return at the NIKKO!

Hotel Nikko is a wonderful property. Friendly polite staff all around. Our junior suite was very spacious with lovely interior features and colours - very soothing. One and a half bathrooms, very comfy bed, city/water views. We would return to San Francisco simply to stay at Hotel Nikko. Anzu restaurant has a nice selection of unique cocktails - food was delicious. 5 stars in our book.
