"Located in the heart of Las Terrenas and across the street from the beach, this hotel seemed promising. The front desk staff was rather welcoming and very responsive. The room was fairly spacious. We expected a lot of noise due to the central location but did not expect the room to be teeming with cockroaches. We initially noted some little cockroaches in the kitchen and then the bathroom. The final straw were the larger cockroaches that crawled on us while we were sleeping. The front desk staff was responsive and apologetic. They informed us that since our room was above the restaurant below, presence of cockroaches is an occasional occurrence. They mentioned that the rooms are fumigated every 15 days for this very reason. They did not have any rooms to relocate us to and offered to fumigate and deep clean our assigned room while we were there. Although the front staff was wonderful, sharing a room with cockroaches was not something appealing during our vacation. We found an airBnB nearby and left immediately. The front staff offered to refund our remaining stay but charged us for the first night. If you like central location, in the middle of the action with crowd noise, spacious rooms, good beach view, friendly lobby staff, but are ok with cockroaches, then this hotel should fit the bill. It did not meet our criteria."
