"My family and I came to Chicago to lay my mother in law to rest. Ben was really helpful in every way you could think of. There was enough rooms and space to accommodate us. I cooked a full course meal that turned out really great! lol The tenants were so nice and fun! They made our stay even better because we really needed those laughs! "The staff lack training in hospitality, customer service, and consideration. The photos used are misleading. The property is under scaffolding. It doesn't matter how much cleaning is done, the kitchen, bathrooms, and common areas always feel gritty and sticky. This hostel is far from community-oriented with how the staff avoid greetings and acknowledgment. Most of the people who stay here also contribute to the discomfort and awkwardness."

"This is the 4th time I've stayed at this hotel. It is always clean. The staff is courteous. And the bar has decently strong drinks. But the real draw for me and why I keep coming back is Steven. He works at the front desk. And each time I return and he is there, he greets me warmly as if we're old friends and I'm staying at his home. He makes the difference for me. Thanks Steven for your kindness and attention to detail!"

"Location worked very well for our needs. Location was a bit sketchy but we came across zero issues with the neighborhood. Room wasn’t perfect and could have been a little more clean as there was a dirty rag on the floor and the bed sheets/pillows had some questionable stains. Best New Subs across the street was delicious and worth stopping by. Keep in mind all amenities, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge areas are all shared spaces. Doors to the rooms could have been more secured with deadbolts."

"This was my second stay at the Sono. I love everything about it. It is a great location with restaurants within walking distance. Free to park close to hotel. Comfortable beds. Very clean!! Management is both helpful and friendly! Breakfast had healthy options. I plan to stay again next time I’m in town."
