"This hotel was the surprise of the year for me as I knew it would be a challenge to get a good room in the city. I read plenty of reviews and decided to give it a try. Honestly I have no idea as to why there are negative reviews for this modern, clean, well appointed property. It was better than expected once I arrived and started to evaluate all aspects of Voco. The lobby on the 2nd floor has a great smell and it's nothing invasive like other hotels that smell of cleaning products. The hallway looked great. And my room was an oasis in the midst of College Point. Great beds, and a modern and well appointed bathroom with plenty of towels of great quality and size. I loved the shower and used both shower heads. Pillows? Plenty and absolutely perfect for a good night sleep. But the highlight was the rooftop lounge. What a great area indoors and outdoors with stunning views especially at night. We had drinks and light food. But I did not use the hotel breakfast during my stay and I'm not able to review that aspect. My family members in NY were impressed and surprised by my hotel find and even took pictures of the property. Some reviews complain about noise from the Karaoke next door but I did hear some noise on Saturday night yet nothing to prevent my rest. It probably depends on your room location . I had room 224 and it was perfect including windows which I requested during check in and the reception was nice enough to get me my wish. I will return to Voco happily."

"Parking is available but scarce. You could end up with having to park on the streets if you check-in late. There is no clear parking regulations or enforcement. Vehicles were just parked anywhere on the property. The room was clean and equipped with everything needed to spend the night. The water supply pipes were loud when taps were turned on and silent when turned off. Neighbour’s included. This woke me up in the middle of the night. Overall this hotel was very good for the price. I recommend it to anybody wanting to stay in NYC by the LaGuardia Airport."
