"Terrible stay! Fridge was broken. Hallway stunk and was dirty. Key cards never worked had to keep for going down for a new key. Never again will I stay there."
"To get safe parking you have to park before the sun goes down. There’s plenty but towards the back it’s dark and the motel next door has people all hours of the night drinking and smoking “m”.
During the night you saw so much homeless people and crack heads walking. At one point, we heard arguing and a commotion and people run. The next day I chose to check out.
Rooms felt dirty and smelled dirty. I ended up getting a rash from that one night."
"The restaurant closes too early, especially on big UT event nights, like graduation and parents weekend. I think 11 p.m. is more reasonable - 10 p.m. is not late enough.
I did not care for your coffee.
But everything else is great and I would return and highly recommend. Amazing staff!"
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Austin Capitol / Downtown
2/10 Terrible
"Immediately upon walking in, the elevator was shaky and the doors would only open and close halfway. Once we got to our first room, the toilet was completely clogged. We called maintenance and even reminded the front desk on our way out, but when we came back it still hadn’t been fixed, only to find out they didn’t even have maintenance available. They then switched us to another room, which was somehow even worse because it looked like they had given us someone else’s room. There were clothes and belongings everywhere. By the third room, we were exhausted and just accepted it, even though the main light didn’t work and only one bedside lamp turned on. On top of all that, the entire building smelled strongly of water damage and mold. If you’re only staying one night and barely plan to be in the room, it might be manageable, but if you want a comfortable stay and don’t feel like going on a room scavenger hunt, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
"I enjoyed my stay here, and found the room adequate, and the grounds pleasant enough. I enjoyed the fact that it was right next-door to a Denny’s, and if I go back, I will definitely try out Denny’s. But I probably will skip this hotel next time, because it is not as close to the University of Texas area as I would like to be. It’s also very near the freeway, which means it’s less enjoyable to stroll outside. Otherwise, not a bad choice."
