No matter what other reviews say: this is a two-star, cheap hotel. Yes, the location is good, but that's where the puck stops. All the responses from the owner are along this line: our family lives on the property and we need to protect ourselves. While I absolutely agree with that, there are no excuses for:
- our room was never updated, dirty wallpaper peeling off, didn't feel clean, and it was a smell of dust everywhere - even in the blankets.
- our room was located next to the reception, and it was really noisy;
- no iron and ironing board in the room. no kettle to boil some water for tea;
- only plastic cups in the rooms!
- the staff going around the 'hotel' wearing shorts or bathrobes?
- the breakfast is pathetic and overpriced! Juice is served in a plastic cup, a few pieces of cheap fruit (mostly apple and orange), some warmed up (or not) pastry, and if you are lucky, eggs. And..in the empty dining room they choose a table where you will sit!
- the whole atmosphere at the hotel was sad, dark, and controlling. You can (read: they can) hear every word that is said in the room, or anything else happening inside of the room. Even if you put a 'do not disturb' sign, they will get in the room while you are out.
- Sorry, but I did not find that family so amazingly friendly.
- The bottom line is: no, I would not recommend this hotel to my family and friends. If you travel to Rome, you better prepare more money so you will have enjoyable stay in a decent hotel.
