Fantastic friendly staff and creative room designs. The breakfast was well prepared and healthy. The surroundings are quite noisy - we were unlucky to stay for the weekend, and had to listen to a night disco during the whole night.

One of the best hostels! The dining options were great, the room clean, guard on duty (it's Brazil....). Pretty building. I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go.

Went on a couple's trip - 1 night in Rio Location: Perfect. Right off the main road, minutes from the the popular Selaron steps & walking distance from the Metropolitan Cathedral and other great attractions. Staff: Helpful, fun and English-speaking. Room: just as pictured. Clean, working AC & clean air Vibe: Picturesque the roof top was a great night vibe - order a Caipirinha and just chill. Or have dinner before heading up to your room.

Really enjoyed my time at Selina hostel ! This is my second time to come back there as they are so friendly , clean , clients oriented and very welcoming team ! I highly recommend it ! And already coming back next Monday again .

Good location & nice staff

The staff were super lovely and the property is in a good location. The rooms are nice but I think we were just a bit unfortunate to get one without a working extractor fan which made the room a bit damp and smelly... we did let them know but we were only there for a short time! Wifi was good Kitchen could do with a few more spoons!

Durante a minha estadia precisei trocar de quarto duas vezes por devido a problemas nos quartos. No primeiro, a fechadura do quarto não funcionava. Ou não trancava a porta na nossa saída ou não fazia a leitura do cartão de entrada. No segundo quarto, o piso estava danificado e, na primeira chuva, descobrimos a razão. A parte superior da janela estava sem vedação e chovia dentro do quarto. Ao solicitar mais uma mudança, o atendente do hotel sinalizou que teríamos que mudar de andar, porque outros apartamentos no mesmo andar que estávamos tinham o mesmo problema. A limpeza do quarto só foi feita mediante solicitação na recepção e, ainda assim, faltavam itens de higiene pessoal. Foi uma estadia desagrável e bem cansativa. Havia um esforço dos atendentes do hotel para resolver os problemas, mas tudo era muito era precário e resolvido no improviso.

Arquitetura diferenciada, bem bonito. Bom café da manhã e boa infraestrutura. Porém, achamos cabelo na parede do banheiro e na cabeceira da cama, isso assim que chegamos, sem utilizar nada. A localização é boa, mas muito barulhenta. Quem quer descansar, ou usa abafador ou esquece. Música, buzinas e gente gritando a noite toda. Barulho externo mesmo. Café da manhã gostoso, mas demora repor utensílios, todos os dias faltou algo, ora talher, ora copo, ora xícara. Atendimento ok.

Não teve retirada do lixo e troca da toalha todos os dias. Gostei muito do café da manhã porém precisam colocar outra máquina para fazer café. Todos os dias faltava. Os funcionários foram bem atenciosos.

Boa estadia!

Pontos positivos: Hotel bem localizado, no coração da Lapa. Próximo aos bares e aos principais pontos turísticos. No 8º andar do hotel tem um rooftop com uma vista incrível dos arcos da Lapa. Pontos negativos: Paredes e banheiros sujos de sangue, provavelmente de muriçoca, mas que facilmente seria resolvido com limpeza das paredes.

Hospedagem excelente, mas limpeza precária

A limpeza do local deixou muito a desejar. A entrada estava simplesmente imunda, a mesa do café da manhã estava marrom, de tão suja. Passei um guardanapo para limpar e ele saiu completamente marrom. O café da manhã era um tanto quanto limitado, os sucos bem aguados e deixaram a desejar. Pedi água quente para fazer um drip coffee e o atendente foi super grosso comigo. Perguntou "o que você quer, água?", ao invés de ser gentil. Em compensação os seguranças foram muito queridos, os atendentes da recepção também! Pessoal da cozinha me ajudou a esquentar uma comida que eu tinha levado, foram queridos. Pecaram mesmo em limpeza. Decaiu muito desde a época do selina.

Window in our room wouldn't close, reception sent maintenance up promptly but it wasn't fixable. Also the tap in the shower had been spun out from the wall so wouldn't work, but we screwed back on ourselves once we figured it out. Mattress needed replacing or cleaning. Good location next to the selaron steps, markets and Lapa for food and bars. Breakfast had a nice selection. Rooftop bar was an added bonus. Quiet inside the hotel.

Atenção as cobranças do restaurante

Tive uma experiência razoável no hotel, mas com alguns pontos que poderiam ser melhorados. No check-in, não me passaram todas as informações necessárias, como o horário de funcionamento do restaurante, o que gerou alguns inconvenientes. Outro ponto de atenção são as cobranças no restaurante do hotel. Em todas as oportunidades, o valor do serviço foi cobrado de forma excessiva, chegando a mais de 20% do total do pedido. Recomendo que os hóspedes fiquem atentos a isso. Por outro lado, o tamanho do quarto é bom, o banheiro também é espaçoso e funcional, e a cama bastante confortável. Além disso, o ambiente é silencioso, garantindo uma boa noite de sono. Se esses pontos fossem ajustados, a experiência poderia ser muito melhor.

Pontos negativos: Chegamos cheias de expectativas e, infelizmente, nos frustramos desde o primeiro dia. A limpeza do hotel no geral e, principalmente do quarto, deixa MUITO a desejar. Nítidas marcas no box, chão gorduroso, papel higiênico com a lateral suja. O lixo do banho quebrado, muito sujo. No box, além da péssima limpeza, também não tinha estrutura nenhuma para colocar sabonete ou shampoo. Outro ponto que achamos terrível foi o cheiro forte de esgoto que fica no banheiro e impregna no quarto. Nem mesmo abaixando a tampa do vaso amenizou - percebemos também que a água da caixa da privada já descia amarelada. Ficamos por 6 dias e solicitamos duas limpezas no quarto... Vimos nitidamente que somente trocaram as toalhas pq as deixamos no chão. De resto, só "maquiaram" o quarto. A pia continuou suja, tudo sujo. O hotel promete muito, tem uma estrutura linda mas está muito mal cuidado. A lâmpada do nosso quarto estava com problema e ficava fazendo barulho a noite toda. O café da manhã pago a parte na estadia não era buffet. Havia três opções de combo e bem fraco: bolo industrializado, pão de queijo ruim, mesmo suco todos os dias. Além disso, no primeiro dia assim como nós, vários hóspedes ficaram confusos com o serviço. Nenhum atendente explica como funciona! O único atendimento realmente bom foi da galera da recepção. Pontos positivos: A ducha é boa. Os DJs que tocaram eram bons. Fica a 10 min a pé do metrô. Boa segurança.
