Mainly good dog friendly bush surrounds and enjoable walks .units comfortable and staff lovely microwave and bbq outside of breakfast room for all to use.we enjoyed a relaxing day thank you
There was a fire pit was which was lit at night, we enjoyed this.
The continental breakfast was simple but nice, the facilities were clean.
I’d recommend this accommodation for large groups or for a simple quiet weekend away.
The property is idyllic in itself and surroundings. Sealed roads, easy access and local to amenities.
The only thing we missed was aircon - it was a 35C weekend - but otherwise great location. Katrina was so lovely and helpful and we would definitely stay there again.
Decided to stay here Saturday night after going to the airshow in cessnock because they had reasonable prices compared to town. Plus it is nice and quiet to being in the bush about 10.8km from town.
A few days getaway with peace and quiet. Staff were amazing and so attentive we will be back for sure! Highly recommended if you’re chasing some zen and peace and quite out in nature away from the word.
We loved the Hunters retreat, it was pet friendly, everybody was very helpful and friendly, they had a bonfire with marshmallows for the kids. The rooms were clean great value for money. We will be back!
Wonderful break in the countryside. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Not too far from Newcastle’s beaches.
Would have been helpful if room type description had more information about kitchen facilities. We weren’t sure if it had a hob/ oven (which it did in the 2-bedroom). Had to make another trip to the shops for
Appropriate food once we sure of facilities.
Can’t recommend this retreat more than enough!
Firstly it is pet friendly accommodation which you can bring your furry babies with you for free staying.
Secondly my car was broken down on the second day of staying. Katrina the owner offered so much help to us. Taking us to town to get lunch. Let us to check out whenever we are ready. Nice environment and friendly people and friendly dogs .
Would definitely love to come back.
The owner was super nice, had to call her in the middle of the night and she had to clean the bed with one of the cleaners!
Open the bed sheet before we about to go to sleep, what a fright, human hair, dog hair, pubes etc!
The room was clean, the bed was made, but it looks like when you open the spread it wasn’t done, they just covered it up!
Not a great experience!
As much I wanted to put a good review it’s hard not to tell the truth!
It’s a bit worn down the rooms, needs major renovation and maintenance!
Only thing I liked about the place are the owner and the cleaner, they were super nice and apologetic!
Overall even though the price point is good, cleanliness takes a major factor!
So sorry about this review, I wish I could wrote of something more nicer, but had to tell the truth!
Need major repairs and maintenance, squeaky fan!
Lovely staff and the most amazing atmosphere! Was so relaxing to sit by the camp fire with a couple of drinks and chat to other guests. Pet friendly too. Such a great get away
Had a great stay at the retreat, the room we had not quite what we thought we were getting but very comfy bed. The friendliest and helpful staff made our stay enjoyable.
Nice clean private room, very quiet, perfect place to rest for the night when travelling. Loved that we were allowed our Dog in the room.
Staff were very helpful and polite aswell.
