"After staying here twice this week, I am really surprised at the high ratings this motel has. To be fair, there really aren't many choices in Barcaldine so reviews are perhaps relative. On our way west, we were given room #24 - definitely don't stay in that one. It was clean and the mattress and pillows were comfortable, but it was in very poor repair. The wardrobe literally had broken handles hanging off it, the smoke detector had been removed, the bedside lights were blinding fluorescent bulbs...
