Great place to stay. Great staff that went the extra mile to make the stay more comfortable. Food was good overall with plenty of options and dinner reservations were easy and available for use every evening. We didn't use the pool much since the beach area was so nice and thats where we preferred to spend the days.

The staff seemed bothered to even help or be happy that we were there. We had false promises and let down on reservations after two people came up to us, got us to join them on what’s app. The amenities are great. But, what is promised is not what is. No service eon the beach. Putt putt you have to have a reservation and they have chipping clubs not even putters. All Other resorts putt putt is open all night. There they close at 5. No one is doing that when the sun is out and it is beach time and so hit. Basketball have to reserve. They had one ball. The girl thought it was so funny. More need to speak English. Crazy they only spoke Spanish. Food was ok. Often. Couldn’t get many types of drinks. Bottom line. No one on the staff cared that we picked them out of all Places in the world. It was as if you were bothering them to help you. Empty promises leaving us with no reservations. and said we were getting things that they never gave. Beach was beautiful and fun activities at the pool. Loved the Rio restaurant and nighttime activities. Loved.

Not going back to this place. Needs improvement with food taste, food variety, service etc. They need to train their staff more about service, hospitality and friendliness. Lazy river or pool were murky and dirty. Cleanliness is very important esp you are in food service ie plastic cups / glasses need a thorough wash and not supposed to have lip marks or greasy finger prints left on the glasses. Food attendant must be aware of proper food handling ie grabbing tip money with your gloved hand and then grab the food and serve it to your guests is unhygenic. Lack of training looks like it stems from the very highest level. Service in any form is sloooooow. Be prepared to wait for an hour for your main course to be served. And, oh btw, they need to train their reception staff as well. Imagine checking in your guest with non knowledgeable and untrained reception staff. Failing to explain resort policy to new guests. On the positive note, they have a nice coffee shop and the beach is clean and well maintained.

This property is associated with a Vacation Club that uses very deceptive tactics to draw you into a time share like presentation. Your building concierge invites you to a free VIP Diamond club breakfast to promote their upgraded room tiers. The concierge says it only takes 30 minutes and hopes you will book a Diamond Club room on your next visit. It is a COMPLETE lie. He takes you to the standard breakfast buffet, does a soft credit check while you eat, then takes you into their vacation club sales room. They had me there for 2 hours before I just walked out. They wouldn't even tell me the price of their club. I will never stay at a Royalton again. And I am very disappointed that Expedia recommends this facility, even though I would have returned. Even a simple disclaimer that this property will employ deceptive sales tactics to promote their vacation club. I never got anywhere close to the VIP Diamond Club they said they were promoting. Beware.

I was not impressed with the room cleanliness. When we arrived I had to call the cleaning ladies to come clean the shower that looked like it wasn't clean, the pillow cases on the single bed were dirty and must have not been changed and my daughter noticed on the fan some brown spots which i thought was paint chipped but instead the lady took her broom with a cloth to wipe to see that it was a thick layer of dust and looks like it was never cleaned. There were other spots that needed attention but I didn't want to point out everything. Clearly they don't deep clean their rooms and was disappointed especially for a Royalton that is supposed to be reputable.

Rooms smell of mildew. Food is disgusting. Property is run down. Drunk teenagers will wake you around 1am nightly. This is a 2 star resort marketed as a 5 star. Everything is broke. Diamond upgrade is a scam. Roach was on buffet food. They tried to charge me for a Cabana I didnt get. 1st Vacation I lost weight on. Managemant is nowhere to be found. Go somewhere else.

Our overall experience was very disappointing. We paid a lot for this stay, but the food options were very limited and did not suit our taste. Breakfast was not proper, and most meals lacked flavor (very low salt), so we ended up eating mostly eggs and bread. We even had to buy KFC for the kids because there weren’t enough suitable options for them. I specifically requested mac and cheese for my son, but it was only available for 2 days and only until 3 PM, which was very inconvenient. There was no lunch buffet available—only breakfast and dinner—so we had to walk to the beach area just to get lunch, which was frustrating. Additionally, the elevators in Building 18 were frequently out of service, causing major inconvenience during our stay. Overall, this was by far one of the worst experiences we’ve had, and we expected much better for the price we paid.

The property is nice enough and dinner reservations can be managed via their app, but customer service is hit or miss. Some are super nice and helpful while others are only there to get paid, ignoring you if you don’t tip (for every drink). This really impacted our experience here as did not make us feel welcome. Everything seemed to be a challenge from finding a bar that had all ingredients for making your drink to getting bottled water ( waited more than 2 hours for room service that never came). The food was also hit or miss with dinners in restaurants being generally good (minus drink service) and buffet being underwhelming with cold food and poor options. I will go back to IBEROSTAR for our next all-inclusive and will not be returning to Royalton.

This was, without question, the most disappointing travel experience my family has ever had, and we will absolutely never return. We paid for Diamond Club, but it felt more like “slightly shinier disappointment.” If this was the upgraded experience, I’d hate to see the standard one. Check-in in the “special” Diamond area took over two hours after a long travel day with kids, with absolutely no sense of urgency from staff. The promised upgraded room was apparently imaginary, and amenities that were supposed to be there on arrival showed up two days later after we insisted we receive it. The concierge tried, but restaurant reservations were a struggle, and the “24/7 room service” was basically coffee, pastries, and a fun guessing game about what portion of your order might actually arrive. Ordering in the evening was a joke - the app to order said temporarily closed 24/7. We were told to call zero for room service but they never answer once! The biggest issue was the pool setup. Shade was nearly impossible to get, even at sunrise all the chairs are taken, and we sat by the Diamond pool for over 7 hours one day without being served once. For a premium upgrade, it was impressive how often we paid extra just to do everything ourselves.

Needed a one night stay as we moved up our trip and our resort wasn’t available. I wouldn’t have survived more than 1 night. Resort is dated, service is bad and food / drinks are awful. I feel bad for the people that work there because I think they are trying but are overwhelmed, mostly by high school spring breakers who ruin the vibe.

From the beginning, there was a noticeable lack of customer service. Prior to arrival, I attempted to contact the hotel through Expedia with questions about my upcoming trip, but received no response or lack thereof information. Upon arrival, I was also informed that in order to have our rooms located next to each other, an additional payment was required—despite having already made this request in advance through Expedia. During our stay, the conditions of the room were unacceptable. We encountered centipedes and roaches, which is completely unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. Additionally, there was a period of time where we did not have access to water for part of the day. Housekeeping was also inconsistent—we repeatedly had to request room cleaning, even when the sign indicating service was clearly displayed. The overall experience at the resort felt heavily focused on upselling rather than guest satisfaction. There was a clear lack of amenities and activities, especially for a weekend stay, which made the environment feel underwhelming and not in line with what was advertised. One of the most disappointing aspects of our stay involved the misleading information provided at the time of booking. When we reserved our stay through Expedia, it was advertised that we would receive a $300 resort credit.
