Thank you for taking the time to leave us this online feedback. We have a variety of room types and features in the rooms at the property, each one individually decorated. As you note your booking was very last minute and the last available room however it is in keeping with the size of the other rooms so certainly not inferior - square footage of rooms is available prior to reservation. The room is not in the basement - a basement is underground with no windows - the room is on the ground floor of the property so we are very confused as to why you would feel the receptionist directed you "underground" - perhaps she meant downstairs given there are steps up to the front of the property? As you would have seen despite the ground floor location it is a light and bright room with a window in the bedroom and bathroom. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness and decor, we are not too clear in reference to the boat as the bed is a divan based King bed but this could be a wording error. Having spoken to the server at breakfast you did sit on an unmade table but this was swiftly made up for you and she answered various questions you had about the property however none of the features you mention in your review as missing are advertised when booking i.e. cinema room and lounge so you would not have been expecting these features prior to booking.Guests are certainly not "banished" to their rooms to use your phrase, a bar and restaurant are available just 10 seconds away opposite plus a snug of sofas in the lobby area. Seconds from the property are other restaurants, bar options or indeed the seafront a few minutes walk away so certainly not a feeling of being isolated in the property.It's such a shame none of your feedback was brought to our attention at the time of your stay as we had a number of cancellations on this date and could have easily accommodated you in a room to suit your preference had we been aware but our first knowledge was this lengthy online feedback. A real shame as we would have much preferred to have enabled you to have an enjoyable and positive night away. We hope to welcome you again to a more suitable room to meet your requirements and please rest assured that following your review we will certainly speak with the staff member you have chosen to highlight in your review for some additional customer training.
