This is one of my favorite places to stay in Playa del Carmen. It's close to the beach and 5th Ave but is still quiet.

Hacienda del caribe

Cleaning lady came every day to clean the room and bring fresh towels. I stay here every time I come to Playa.

Room was large and very clean. Staff were always as helpful as they could be with the language barriers from Spanish to English. Any requests were dealt with quickly. My only complaint was the noise from the restaurant across from my room. In the late evening, lots of banging during cleanup. Also the freezer door banging shut every few minutes. As well, inconsiderate guests that come back late at night yelling and slamming doors. Not hotel's fault, but maybe post a note near front desk or in rooms to remind guests to be quieter after 11. Hotel is super close to beach and 5th ave and if you go in the opposite direction, lots of cheaper local restaurants and Walmart within 15 minute walk.

Great hotel! Incredibly accessible location - the hotel is close to everything. It's right on quinta, next to ADO and ferry, not to mention all the dining options. We loved the hacienda style - the room was spacious, beautiful and unique, and the hotel had a cozy feeling to it. The best was the big balcony with a nice view. Really worth it for the price!

The shower head was moldy and the drain was slow. Some of the staff seemed irritated by us being there. There isn't a bar on premises like the pictures show. Coffee maker but no coffee and none of the markets we went to had coffee grounds. Air conditioner worked well and cleaning staff were nice. Front desk people were quite friendly.

A well located Mexican gem

This is a lovely, quaint, Mexican-style hotel. The staff was great and very attentive. The hotel is very clean and located centrally in Playa del Carmen - close to the beach, the bus station and 5th Ave. If you are looking for a modern, American-style hotel, this is not for you. You may need to ask for hand towels and supply your own water but the location, the staff and the genuine atmosphere are wonderful.

Location was perfect. Was able to walk to many restaurants and transportation was easy to find. Very clean. Cute hotel. Hot water and cold AC. Only thing lacking was a mini fridge to keep drinks cold. Otherwise, great place to stay.

Nice, clean hacienda style place. Good air conditioning; beds were comfortable; room size was good; location was excellent. Only complaint was water in shower never got above tepid and on Thursday and Friday night I could hear/feel base of music from a bar down the street. It wasn’t bad and didn’t keep me awake, but noticed it in the background when I was awake. I figure it is a small trade off for the great location and being able to walk everywhere I wanted.
