"Staff, such as it was, was great. Unfortunately, for some reaon (probably understaffed and unable to fill) tjere was no manager available for this Indigenous People's Day weekend. A biker, cosplay, and some other convention was going on, as well as a wedding. ONE night audit on for the weekend! SERIOUSLY!?!?! Poor thing ran around doing her very best and calm the whole time. Shout out and congratulations on a job well done, Melissa!
However, the hostel is dated, and while pretty much spotless, it is in disrepair. The carpets are worn, and bleached in places, counter tops are coming off the wall, television is out of date on the programming, with a line going up the middle...some kind of graphics defect, toilet paper holder pulled out of its bracket onto the floor, and one elevator was out of order, the secind one barely functioning. Most folks ended up taking the stairs. There are no designations as to what floor you are on in the stairwell. Thankfully, its only 4 floors!!! The hot tub was out of service, and the pool heat and filtration was off. I spent 2 days trying to get it unlocked. The staff on service had no clue as to why it was closed, but rumor had it that it was because of the short staff and the amount of business taken in for the weekend. Whew!"
