"We were told our room was ready to check in but when we got to our room the cleaning people were still cleaning. We had to wait 30 min in our car before being able to unpack. The room was worn down. The room had no trash bags in any of the trash cans. There were parts of the room such as the transition piece from the rug to the tile being busted off. The outside of the room was kind of dumpy. The stairs and balcony walkway area were coming apart. Not impressed with the $25.00 / day charge for beach towels and chairs. The website says towels are included. To get a new towel you have to return the used onne to the front desk. There were limited umbrellas at the pool. The resort website offers rental bikes but it doesnt tell you that in order for the bike rental place to deliver the bikes you have to rent for a 3 day minimum. You have to drive to the bike rental place to actually rent a bike. This was our first visit to Sanibel Island and this resort. We would not recommend this resort and will not be returning in the future. Extremely disappointed. "

"This resort was fantastic! The bathroom body wash soap was the worst part of this place - if they upgrade it to something with more suds that would be perfect. The suite was amazing and brand new. Beach towels were available to rent but everything else was included. Umbrellas were also available for renting. The island was great for shelling, found more shells here than at Bowman Beach. The pool was relaxing and well maintained. The staff were attentive and friendly each time we worked with them. Linens are exchanged rather than housekeeping coming by routinely which was nice when you ran out of towels. Top floor observation deck was beautiful for sunsets."

"The property was clean and well kept. It’s close to every thing. The pool just a few steps out of every bungalow. Full kitchen and use of out grill. Being able cook out was a blast and beat the hustle waiting at a restaurant. Staff was fantastic. I’ve already booked another stay."

"I stayed at the Sandpiper, unit #1 which is a two bedroom. The Palmview is a couple doors down. Bedrooms are small but both have comfortable queen beds. Everything worked, and if I had decided to make meals I had pots, pans, utensils and spices to work with. The staff provides starter kitchen supplies, extra toilet paper, and if you need clean towels, just call the office. If this place had a pool, I'd give it four stars. They do have some beach cruiser bikes that you can use for free for a morning ride to the beach. The nearest beach at the end of Donax is walkable if you're not lugging a bunch of stuff with you. Oh, they have the beach stuff there too! Staff is extremely responsive. I had a couple minor issues and someone came out the next morning to clear out the bathroom sink drain and pump up the tires on the bikes. They allow dogs, and there is a small fenced area in the backyard for the dogs to go. "
