"Our apartment was lovely with a terrific view overlooking the beach, all exactly as illustrated on the website. The standard of furnishing and cleanliness were excellent. Overall we were very satisfied with the accommodation at The Sands and we would certainly consider returning on a future occasion."

"Arrived in the heat wave Saturday 23rd May. View from the room No43 was directly out across the bay, 2 floors down from reception level, the lift was slow and small. The fan provided was broken and after asking twice we bought our own. The hotel did say they had none left to other customers who then left. At this time of year the seagulls were very vocal and building nests on any flat ledge. This also prevented us from having the windows open. The style and location of the hotel is its attraction. The staff in the dinning room work hard and the breakfast food is always topped up. Again the view is wonderful and it is one floor down from reception using the same lift but not too many stairs. Parking is a problem, you need to be patient or use a local multi-storey 5 minutes walk away. You are high up from the bay but each end of the hotel has a funicular railway. It is a budget hotel but we would be happy to stay with Britannia again."

"This is really lovely guesthouse located above the North Beach in Scarborough. We were warmly welcomed by Jill on our arrival. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a sea-view room which is well worth paying the extra for with views down to the beach in one direction and up to the castle in the other. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and the staff were very nice and helpful. You can easily walk to a wide choice of restaurants within 10 minutes as well as down to the main town and both beaches."

"Beautiful location, very close to all the main attractions, all within a 3–15 minute walk, including North Bay Beach, Peasholm Park, the Open Air Theatre, SEA LIFE, and the water park. Communication was helpful and clear throughout our stay. The property was very quiet, and the room, bed sheets, and towels were exceptionally clean. It was well-equipped, nicely furnished, and felt both modern and cottage-like. The beds were comfortable, and we felt very safe during our stay. The shower has strong water pressure which is a plus. Hair dryer included. Tea, coffee, and a kettle were provided, allowing us to make our own hot drinks. The hosts had also arranged a discounted breakfast option with a nearby café, which was a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Guests with mobility requirements should note that the property does not have disabled access."
